I made my own belly bands for my semi-DIY invites. The pocketfold is 6″ square and the envelope is 6.5″ square. I thought this would be plenty of room, but it’s not 🙁 I have to shove the invites in and the band usually comes off when I pull the invite out.
Do you think that making the belly band tighter will solve this issue?
Or, should I order bigger envelopes? Change the belly band (which I love!)?
Here they are:

I’d say try making the belly band tighter. Could you make it so that the ribbon is glued to the card and hide the cut/seam under the seal? That way you could glue it to the invitation and it won’t pull off as easily. If that doesn’t work, then I’d say order bigger envelopes.

I just had a brain wave… I think I can try putting them in the envelope so the band goes in up and down, so it should slide either, then horizontal, so it catches comine out. DUH!
If that doesn’t work, I will try what you suggested!

Buy new envelopes! I had the same problem. I sent a test invite to my parents and the invitation warped in the mail and became wrinkly because the invite was shoved in there. It is not worth the hassle! I got 100 envelopes for $15 online. Best $15 I have spent in this whole process!!!
