I am getting married on September 20th on a lake in New York.  The wedding is going to be outdoors under a tent next to the lake.  I'm having so much trouble coming up with flower colors for me and my bridesmaids.  The bridesmaids dresses came from the Gap.  They are kind of a silvery gray strapless with a Navy blue sash around the empire waist.  They were in the stores this past winter, maybe you are familiar with what I'm talking about.  Anyway, my struggle comes with the time of year the wedding is.  I was originally thinking white flowers but I think that will look way too summery with the bridesmaids dresses for a wedding that is on the verge of Autumn.  I want something that looks really natural and classic but I'm just not sure what to do!  I would like them to have some sort of a color or neutral (just not a stark white) and then put some kind of accent with their bouquets in my bouquet   Here is a link to my dress if that helps at all.   http://www.justinamccaffrey.com/Collections.aspx?classics unfortunately you have to sign in to see more views but it should give you a good idea. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I truly think a monochromatic style is always in season but your interpretation can certainly influence the look.  Instead of all white could you try all cream flowers?  I think the more muted color might be a better fit with the look it seems you want.  I also think if you use flowers and add in's (berries maybe) with a heavier texture it will look less summery. I really like the idea of using some rustic type accents like raffia or decorative grasses which I think would fit will with the time of year and your location.  If you stick with flowers that are in season the arrangements will certainly not look out of place.   Good luck.

i agree wtih ncmountainbride that the white flowers sounds nice. I have been to many weddings in September and am always surprised at how not-autumny the weather is. Not sure where you are, but in so cali, it is still very summery and you can pull off your white flowers. If not, I think cream is also a good way to go. :)
