If you are super concerned with the walls, you can do some uplighting.. it really can transform any room.

@ladydirtold:  Your daughter is lucky to have you- a Mom who is interested in helping.

Her venue is a blank slate. The walls may be green but they do not need to dictate the color scheme, unless she wants green. All weddings have some green in the floral arrangenment greenery.

The suspended ceiling is easy to decorate with bunting, strings of mini lights, balloons etc or she could hang just one piece over the dance floor.

Once you add tables with linens and centerpieces, the look will be vastly different.

If you want more specific ideas, tell us about the wedding- color, theme if any, their interests (do they want to personalize the wedding?).

Do you have a Pinterest account? It’s a great place to search and save ideas.

@ladydirtold:  The ceilings look a little on the low side so I’d avoid hanging anything from the ceilings. As pp mentioned you can really do a lot with uplighting and transform a room with just the lighting!

Also I wouldn’t worry about the walls as pp mentioned flowers have greenery in them….no one will even notice the walls!

This is the same room to give you an idea of before and after. The pic below has uplighting

@ladydirtold:  The strings of globe lights can have a big impact. The ones in your pic are just too skimpy.

They can be expensive to use in large quantities, however. You can maximize the impact by concentrarting them over the dance floor. Also, get out and buy lights now while they are on sale after Christmas.

Has she decided on linens and centerpieces?

@ladydirtold:  Hi.  Wow, she’s got lots of ideas! The tall glass vases with flared rims from dollartree are on clearance. If she wants those, she better get them right away!

Since she loves this, she could do this, but make sure not to hang them too low.  Lots of small Christmas lights and tulle would make the space “more dreamy”.  She could also have lights under the long tables, if she wants to use white tablecloths/table covers.

would love to do this!!

With red roses or red carnations with silver/rhinestone pins and in the dollartree flared vases with silver glitter on the bottom, tied with a black grossgrain ribbon around the vase?

If she likes these vases and wants them a little taller, she can use clear epoxy and glue them to dollartree candleholders.

dollar store hurricane

Because she can wrap the upper stems with fabric or black feathers? and she will have glitter on the bottom, the stems won’t show.

or add a red carnation ball set on top of the vase and black lace trim just above the glitter?

She could add something like these?
