- Wedding: June 2013
We have an unusual situation.
We are getting married in a state far from the state we live in, as that is where my family is.
We also have a limited budget.
I’d love to be to invite every person I’ve ever met, and loved. I’ve thought from the beginning that it wouldn’t be an issue, because people are unlikely to travel that far for our wedding. Niether Save the Dates nor Invitations have gone out yet, but I have a number of people approaching me telling me that they are planning on traveling to my wedding. I’ve even considered having an informal reception in my home state. When I mention that, people still mention wanting to attend the actual wedding. I HATE to hurt feelings, but I just can’t afford that many people. How do I GRACEFULLY invite local people to a small reception in the state I reside in? How do I let some of the people who have informed me that they want to attend know that we have limited space? Some people have already told me that they want to bring their children and make a family vacation out of it. Again, I am so grateful to have people that want to attend my wedding, I just wish I could afford to treat them all. 🙁
