I would love you help in choosing the wording for the beginning of our invites. Please vote for one or chose other to offer a new suggestion. Background info: Fiance and I live together and have two-year old twins. Thanks in advance!
1. With joyous hearts we invite you to join us in our day of celebration as we become husband and wife
2. With joyous hearts we invite you to celebrate with us as we solidify our family through marriage
3.With joyous hearts we invite you to witness and celebrate the solidification of our family through marriage
4. With joyous hearts we invite you to witness and celebrate beside us as we solidify our family through marriage

Probably just me, but I’m not crazy about the “solidify our family through marriage” wording. I voted #1.

So I picked 1. I get that you’re trying to include the kids and make it a “family” thing. But using the word “solidify” makes it sounds like the relationship was previously unstable. Honestly, and I don’t think this is what you mean at all, it makes it sound like you’re getting married for the kids (not because you’re in love). Also “solidification” makes me think of chemistry. Not the hot, sexy kind but the high school, lab coat, and goggles kind.
How about “With joyous hearts we invite you to celebrate our family through the joy of our marriage”?
or “With joyous hearts we invite you to celebrate our marriage and our family”

Not feeling the “with joyous heart” part.

@JenGirl: I know what you mean, I was kinda feeling the same way about using “solidify”. I know how I mean it, but feel it comes off a different way. And it’s funny that it makes you think of chemistry, because I’m a physical science (and Algebra) teacher!!
Thanks for your input ladies!

You could put something like celebrate our union as a family through marriage instead of the word solidify. As with other comments previously posted, the word solidify doesn’t scream stable or happy to me and was making me cringe a little..
