Do any of you ladies have a white gold E ring from Kay jewelers and put a mossanite stone in the setting? I have an engagement ring from them and I would like to put in a larger stone so Fiance and I decided to go with mossanite after all the great reviews I’ve read on here about them….
Now on to the problem I was wondering if having my ring dipped would hurt the mossanite stone at all and was told no by the mossanite rep. because the stone is taken out for that but when I called Kays I was informed they will do no work on a ring with a mossanite stone and if I put one in my warranty for my band and smaller diamonds would be void. I’m totally bummed about this and don’t know where to go from here.
What have you ladies done or heard?

There is no need to take a moissanite out for replating. It works by electroplating and will not hurt the stone (what would people with bezels do!?). Taking a stone out everytime would not be great for stone or prongs!
As for the warranty policy, it is not unusual for a vendor to have one that says the warranty is voided after third party work. They do not want to accept liability if the third party messes up.
Your options are to stay with what you have & keep warranty, or get a moissanite set by someone else and void it. Or get a new ring from someone who sells moissanite and get their warranty!

@RayKay: Ditto. And I wouldn’t worry about losing the warranty. Just keep an eye on your prongs. Do you have insurance?

@kelmac: The only type of insurance/warranty I have is through Kays which will be void if I put a moissanite stone in my setting.
