What about Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way You Are" which is just over 2 minutes long. You could also cut songs shorter if you needed/wanted to.
You could have your DJ bridge (build a medley)your song for your dance with your father with one for him and his mother.
About 3/4 of the way through your song, they transition to another one for his mom and him(you and your Dad stay Dancing), then a short time later(doesn't have to be as long as your dance with your Dad), they transition to another song which is either your first dance with your husband, or a family dance-you dance with your husband, your mom joins your Dad, his Dad joins his mom.
That way he dances with his mother but it doesn't have to be for very long.
We didn't want to make a huge deal out of the father-daughter/mother-son dance because our wedding was pretty informal, but like you we also felt that it would still be really important to our parents. So we avoided the typical songs and went with "Step Outside" by The Finches, and danced with our respective parents at the same time. It just reminds me of a song that you would hear in the background if someone was playing a black and white video of you with your parents as a kid or something. I guess it just sounds very 'nostalgic' and is very beautiful.
You can Google "the finches step outside" and a link should pop up to listen to it on iLike. It's also on iTunes.
See if this link works:
I think we found an upbeat, not too long one for him, Stand By Me...I'm dancing to My Girl.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
can anyone recommend some good mother/son (groom) dance songs that are shorter, as well?
My fiance really doesn't want to dance with his mom, but I seriously think it would be really rude and a slap in her face if he didn't. He's very shy. Plus, he doesn't want to dance to my father/daughter song at the same time. My parents also think it would be bad if he didn't dance with his mother. I don't think fiance has ever danced with his mother!
thanks in advance
