my dress is coming in in about a month, so while I’m not planning on buying accessories until I get to try it on again, I want to try to start narrowing down my wedding day look! I’m so lost! I’m going for woodsy, ethereal, fairy, whimsicle, natural, ect. Getting married outside in a cedar grove. I don’t want to look TOO muc like i’m trying super hard/ all made up/ accessory overload! Here’s some of the things that I love- just not sure what to choose!
My dress is the san patrick calais (here’s me in the sample 4 sizes to small)
my flowers will be something like this:
MY shoes are the adrienne vittadinin flats in silver
-off the shoulder lace bolero *i always wanted a lace dress, so this would get me some lace
-dainty flower crowns
-vine/flower inspired hair combs
-interesting sashes like these
-statement necklaces (open to suggestions):
-veils – either long cathedral or something interesting (if doing no/simple jewelry):
I’m not big on big earring (sensitive ears) or too much bling…

oh! and I guess if you have particular combination recommendations to make (i.e. interesting veil with sash, or say…statement necklace and cathedral veil)- that would be awesome possum too!

I chose flower crown, interesting sash, and cathedral veil 🙂

I like the hair comb, pretty sash, and the shorter veil with the details. I think the hair comb offsets the fact that you don’t like earrings. It gives you a little bling at the top.

I chose flower crown, interesting sash, and interesting veil. I think that will fit best with your ethereal woodsy vision. A cathedral veil may be impractical for a cedar grove – i’m imgining bits of twigs and pine needles getting stuck in it as it drags behind you. I think the flower crown and interesting veil could be combined well to create a gorgeous head piece. With all that going on, you wouldn’t want a statement necklace to compete with it.

I like the floral crown that Kristen Dunst is wearing, and either the first or the last sash.
When I think of the look you’re going for I don’t think “bling” really works with it.
I’m not sure how the lace bolero will look with that dress, I’d have to see them together.
As far as veils, I’d go with something simple, and fingertip length. The longer one would drag the ground and get stuff stuck in it, and the detailed one looks too much to me. your dress is very detailed, and with all of the other details, I think it might look too busy.
I love where you’re going with this though!

I love the flower crown idea! It would look ethereal and pretty with your dress and really add a lovely fairy-like touch. Also, I voted for the interesting sash, and I especially love the 3rd pic you posted. The first two might be too distracting with your dress, but the embroidered sheer one would add just the right touch of interest at your waist. Also, I’d go with a fingertip- or elbow-length veil so that it flows nicely over the dress and doesn’t compete with the sash, headband, or dress. Good luck!!

I love your dress and all the accessories, but I voted for only a flower crown. I really love your first inspiration picture of the flower grown (with the bride and groom). That bride doesn’t have anything else going on besides the dress, bouquet, and floral crown. I love this look because it is so simple and lovely.
With the detail on your dress, I really don’t think you need a sash, but if you really want one, that is the only other thing I might add.

Also chose sash and flower crown- I actually LOVE that dress also and came VERY close to purchasing it! I love how light and airy it is. I’m not sure if you tried this or not, but the shape of the dress changes drastically if you try a petticoat (or whatever they are called) under the skirt. Also, I think because of its airy nature, a bolero would change the whole feeling of the dress. I love it with some kind of a sash, it definitely adds a little bit of visual interest. The flowers are GORGEOUS by the way. LOVE! Here is the dress with different belt options– don’t ask WHY I have these. I was a little obsessed..

I wouldn’t do the bolero; it doesn’t go with the bottom of the dress, in my opinion. And if you did the bolero, you couldn’t do the statement necklace and/or sash, which I like better.

I vote for the flower crown and the statement necklace OR flower crown and cathedral veil. Your dress is so beautiful that I think adding onto the actual dress would change the entire look of it.

First of all, love your dress, flowers and shoes. They’re perfect for the look you’re going for! I would skip the lace bolero. A flower crown is a must. I would also do a soft sash like the last one you have pictured, nothing to blingy, or structured. I would also do a simple cathedral veil with no embellisments.

@ddavila2001: you rock!!!! this has really solidified my interest in a sash! I’m leaning toward the 3rd one; a) its cheaper, and b) i think the styling would be the best- not too much, but a bit of visual interest!
thank you thank you thank you to all the bees! this forum is awesome and I’m starting to really get an idea of what I want…simple veil, flower comb and interesting (but not over the top) sash!

I voted for flower crown and interesting sash. I normally love lace boleros but I think with your dress, it doesn’t quite go. I LOVE your dress and how ethereal it looks so I voted for flower crown (goes with the look and your venue) and an interesting sash.

I love the sash, but not with the embellishments. Could you do a plain ribbon sash?
