- Wedding: August 2015
Ok, so — this is so weird! Since we’ve last spoken, bees, I’ve paid for almost half of my wedding! Whoa, doggy, does it go fast or what?
I’m just now starting to purchase my extras for the decor, even though most of my stuff comes with the venue. We’re thinking, for decor, that we’ll do all black, white/cream, gray, and silver “glam.” However, I don’t mean BAMINYOURFACE glam, but including sparkles and silver.
He wants to be all dressed in black, ala Johnny Cash. My girls are in “moonlight waltz” (a soft gray) and my Maid/Matron of Honor is in “smoke” gray. His boys will be in black and gray. They’ll all have silver accents to some extent and I want to follow that theme for everything.. I think sparkle is enough of an “accent” and I won’t need an actual color… All of my flowers are going to be greenery and cream/white.
Does this sound too weird/blah? I want classy, but “understated” and not too matchy-match…
My plan: the white/cream tablecloths (included in venue) and (I would purchase) charcoal overlays and chair sashes. Would it look weird to have organza sashes with satin overlay? I planned on silver/glitter table numbers and some sort of silver and white confetti or baby (fake) crystal-looking things on the table, so silver would wash it all out, no? Plus — I’m can’t get organza overlays, because the included linens are those weird scrunchy-on-top ones that don’t actually cover the tabletop, so they have a weird embossed-looking option that I hate.
Would charcoal be too dark? I don’t want to do black, though.. Help! I need to decide these things because as sales are beginning to crop up during this season, I’ll be purchasing stuff bit by bit!
