So the super fun part has finally reared its ugly little head.. we are having my Future Father-In-Law marry us, hes a bit of a hippie and has all these really rediclious ideas of things he wants to say during the ceremony. we both feel if he wants to wing it he should do so in a speach, not while marrying us, therefor we have decided to write the ceremony ourselves and have him pretty much read from it and stick to that. only problem, where do we start? ive done some googling but all i can find are really relegious souding ceremonies, does any one out there have any input that maybe wrote there own ceremonies? any and all help would be soooo greatly appreciated!

Let me direct you to the bee’s Secular thread 🙂
If you search for “secular ceremony” a few threads come up that might help. I’m not there yet to share my own!
You could also google components of some ceremonies- the sand one, handfasting, and my particular favorite- wine boxes and tweak it to something you’d like. And check out offbeat bride- here are some under their ‘ceremony advice’ thread http://offbeatbride.com/filed/advice/ceremony-advice

This is the one I am using. You can totally use it! I actually stole it from a TV show. My man and I are from 2 VERY different and non-compatable religions (which neither of us really care about because we love each other) but this was a good way to have a ceremony that didn;t offend anyone. Its kinda geeky but hey I embrace it
