I am OVERWHELMED with online shopping for rings! I am finding it hard to get a strong sense of what the proportion of the finished ring will look like as I’m aiming for a prominent centre stone and a band with small stones (some jewlers seem to call this a Classic or Vintage multi-stone style). Here is a typical example.
For you bees who have successfully chosen a ring online, do you have any tips?
For context, I plan to choose a Moissanite ring, most likely from Moissanite Co. I’ve found the pricing on Moissanite Co to be a bit puzzling as it seems a little inconsistent. I have already gone to stores to try things on and get a sense of the style and size that I like most. I found it MUCH easier to choose a style when I could just try them on!

I ordered mine sight unseen from MoissaniteCO and love my choice. Though its a simple solitaire. If it helps, you can email their customer service (which I found exceptional!) and ask them about your ring of choice! I was having a hard time decided between two rings because of the width of the band and they offered to send me a wax ring mold so that I could see the difference in the width!

I went to jewelry stores and tried on their rings to decide which center stone size I wanted. The ring details say how wide the bands are, so you can look on a ruler, or have a wax mold sent!

if I could do it all over again, I would set out 2 weekends to go to every store I could and try on all the size stones I liked, write them down and then look for similar settings… (of rings I liked on moissy)
then I would order a mold of the ring cause if you dont like that ring, I think you can still order another ring and they credit you the mold cost?
i dont think its unusual for people to get 1-2 rings from them made till they find the one. if you are going to wear a ring forever, you better make sure its right and thats means you can fuss all you want.
FI got me 2 rings. the first just wasnt quite right. the 2nd 🙂 its a tad big and I have to get it resized, but other than that, I am very happy w the ring.

So intereting about the wax ring, I hadn’t seen that option on the website, I’ve just emailed them about it.
Thanks for the great tips ladies!
