@beemyname:  Ah, pinterest is notoriously bad for crediting original sources.  If you click on the photo, it should lead you on a trail to where someone originally found it.  Otherwise, save the image and use Google’s Image Search.  Works wonders.

@beemyname:  There is a sticky at the top of the Dress Board that tells you how to use Google Image Search .

If you use Firefox as your web browser, it’s even easier- just right click and select Search Image on Google.

If you want help, post the link from Pinterest you are trying to locate.

@beemyname:  Techinically, you should be able to click the picture and be taken to the original source. However, people pin pictures from everywhere- blogs, wedding site, google searches, tumbler…. so you might not be able to get to the original source that way. As julie said- you can copy/paste the url for the picture into google image search and that might help you track down the original source.

@beemyname:  Yeah I just logged out and tried to go to the link and it prompts you to log in or sign up.

I don’t think it’s a hassel. I mean, if you want to use the site you should have to sign up, right? It’s not a search engine, it’s a community-driven content site. So the idea is that you contribute, not just benefit from other people’s finds.
