    I also wear a 6. I think it looks around .75. It’s beautiful!

I think it’s the setting that may be giving you a off   Feel.  The setting widens at the stone shrinking the feel of it. I think it’s lovely and a good size.  dont stress about it

peacock0320:  She knows the size; she simply thinks the stone doesn’t LOOK its size.

And honestly, there are so many things that come into play when deciding how big a diamond appears – the setting, the colour of the setting, surrounding stones (if any) the width of the band, a wedding ring with it, etc. So while a tiny, thin band can make a stone appear larger, it also comes with the potential to be less durable. I think your ring is beautiful. You say the stone is cut to good proportions (you have likely checked all angles, etc. and run numbers through the HCA), so it comes down to the setting, which either you or your FI chose because you loved it. I see no reason in that case to worry about it, and certainly no reason to change it. People should not choose their rings by majority vote, IMO.

Looks like it’s around 3/4 carat so .75ish. The shank of your ring is pretty thick so that could be contributing to it looking smaller than it is. Your ring is very beautiful though, is it tacori?

NEAM2014: ITA with you that when the setting widens at the center stone, it creates the illusion that the center stone is smaller.

Not that that is a bad thing, OP. Your setting is beautiful.

By the same token, some people feel that a tapered setting makes the diamond look bigger:

OneDayRN:  I think it looks like 1 carat.

Based on my very scientific experiment of putting my 1 carat CZ earring on my finger, I think it’s close to a carat.

OneDayRN:  I also wear a size 6.  I would think your ring is somewhere around 0.85ish

A thinner band will make it look bigger.

I know how you feel. My band becomes wider towards the centre stone and I often feel it makes the diamond look smaller too. Based on personal experience I thought yours was about a 1ct 🙂

I have a .9 that sometimes I think looks a lot smaller than it is, but then other times I think it looks huge. I’m gonna guess yours is a .8-.9
