My finger is a 4.5 and my stone is a 1.5 though it’s a cushion and cut a little deep so it doesn’t face up like a proper 1.5. But you get the idea. If you love big statement pieces then I don’t see an issue with 3 cts. And I know I’ve always been a huge supporter of big gorgeous stones but personally, 3 would be too much for me. 2-2.5 would be my limit. But it’s your ring and I’m not wearing it. 😉 Let’s just say it did look huge on your hand, would you still love it or even love it more or would it make you feel uncomfortable?

I don’t have any pics right now, but when we went ring shopping all of the bigger rings looked ridiculous on my dainty fingers. I ended up going with a smaller ring and I love it. But that was just my personal preference.

I’m a 4.5 and my center stone is 2.37 cts. I’m not sure how much the halo adds.

@raye9289:  I think the ring will look quite large on your finger, esp with the halo.  You could also ask the seller to send you a picture of the ring on someone’s hand for reference.

@raye9289:  Thank you Laughing Another option would be to go into Macy’s or jewelry store and try out whatever 3ct ring they have. Doesn’t even need to be the same stone, just the same ct so you can get a feel of what it would be like to wear something like it every day. Could work (insert shrug).

@raye9289:  Thanks!

If you don’t like your SO’s grandmother’s setting, you can get the stone reset. Or, you can look into getting a custom ring made. I’ve read some posts where people have said it was cheaper than buying a premade ring.
