if you have flowers on your table you can put the numbers on a flower pic (not sure if that's what it is called) and stick them in your centerpieces.
You can find them at the dollar store and plate stands also work. Most rental places rent table # holders as well.
Glue ribbon at the inside bottom of the cardstock when they're folded and placed to prop. It'll keep them standing.

I was faced with the same problem as you (well more like every online place selling those things was on backorder)! Luckily, FI and I had a combined stroke of creativity to solve the problem.
We're using wine bottles as the "stand" with half a floral wire taped on with floral tape around the neck of the bottle. The piece of wire has an alligator clip glue-gunned onto one end (to hold up the table number). To hide the floral tape, I tied a bow with some ribbon that matches the ribbon I'll be using to make bouts/corsages.

Milkshake - that does sound like an awesome idea but I don't think wine will go with my centerpieces (cylinder filled with orchids) but you show a pic anyway!!
I had a girlfriend of mine go to the florist and ask them for the picks that you put cards on for arrangements that are delivered (you know the clear plastic ones?)... only reason I didn't do it was because it was the wedding day and I completely forgot to do that beforehand!!!
They gave us as many as we needed for the centerpieces! They worked great and were FREE!

Your centerpieces were similar to mine, I had cylinder vases with hydgrangeas. One of my bridesmaids got some clear easel stands from Office Depot for me to set the table names on. Michaels also sells them and you can get them in clear, iron or wood.

I made table numbers out of cardstock. My reception place doesn't have those stands to put the numbers in. Does anyone have any idea how I can make them stan up?
