My fiance was raised Ukrainian Catholic so he is hoping we can include some traditions in our Unitarian ceremony. Any Ukrainian Catholic brides out there? We are also looking for a poem or reading to include. Thanks for your help!

Hello, thought I might help a little. I am Ukrainian and though I was raised Orthdox I am familiar with other traditions as well. There is one thing you might want to consider. Majority of Ukrainian catholics belong to Greek-Catholic Church (its unique to Ukraine congragation that was created combining catholic and orthodox traditions.) Very small amount do belong to Ukrainian Catholic Church. But either one of those usually means that traditional wedding would include a lot of ethnic Ukrainial elements.
Here, I found for you couple videos to have a first look at traditional(folk) Ukrainian wedding videos(I do have to point that they different from region to region). Lately I have seen a lot of couples do a traditional dress/ceremony in a cathedral/church and then change to a white puffy dress for second day civil ceremony. Also I assume as your fiancee was raised Catholic his parents (grand?) are probably from Western Ukraine.

This one is very very very folk (traditional) Gutsul(Western Ukrainian) Ceremony(mostly Greek Catholic)

Hope I didn’t overwhelm you 🙂 practically each region of Ukraine has its onw centuries old wedding traditions.
There are some elements you can include though.
Here I found venue in NY which caters to ukrainian wedding and they have explanations of some traditions:
Hope this helps 🙂
