We have a wedding web site and I need help with wording for our registry page. I live in New Mexico, which is where our wedding will take place, but then I'll be moving directly after to Georgia, where my fiance is living.

Should I mention on there that it'd be great if people could take advantage of shipping options online? And if I do that, how do I word it?

We'd also be interested in gift cards to the places we're registering at so we don't have to ship a whole bunch of gifts to GA.

...your thoughts and ideas are more than welcome! I just don't want to be tacky, because I know a lot of his family are VERY traditional...

Honestly? I would leave it up to word of mouth. Have his mother pass the word around to his family and you can do your friends and family. Word travels fast...

I second KateMW.  I'm from GA as well, and I know a lot of stuff concerning regisitries and etiquette gets scrutinized by the Georgia peaches.  I would leave it up to word-of-mouth.  Just make sure it says on your Web site that you'll be moving to GA immediately following the wedding.  I know a lot of people who take advantage of online shipping simply because they don't want to cart the gift to the wedding.

I dunno. I'm still looking for something to put on our web site, only because the majority of his familiy is coming from Texas and his parents don't talk to that side of his family (can't wait for that drama to begin!). I guess I didn't state that very well, but there isn't any family in Georgia.

Maybe I'll just casually mention on the site that we're moving immedately after the wedding and that some of the places we're registering (amazon) offers free shipping on items...

i think that is fine. you could just say:

please take advantage of free shipping offers to our new home in georgia. we'll be making the big move after the wedding:)

honestly, if you have a bunch of traditionals, they will already be scutinizing you for adding that info to the website. i say go for it!
