Okay, so I bought my sister’s Maid/Matron of Honor dress and then searched high and low for a matching Flower Girl dress. I was SOOO excited to find one that matched the color sample at Nordstrom locally, but they didn’t carry Little Girls sizes so I ordered it on super sale from Lord & Taylor (marked down from $68 to $14). The Flower Girl dress arrived last night and the colors DO NOT match exactly like I thought they did. My sister’s Maid/Matron of Honor dress is a bit more blue and the Flower Girl dress is a bit more green. It isn’t noticeably on the Flower Girl underskirt, but the sash really stands out as not matching.
Am I being completely OCD to worry about the shade being off by a minor degree? Would you return the Flower Girl dress and keep looking (I have time, but this dress was such a good deal and just the design I was looking for)? Is it crazy to consider having a seamstress dismantle the dress and put the right shade blue satin in place of the seafoam satin…keeping the organza/ivory overlay?

oh its perfect, I love that little one, I don’t think anyone is going to tell that they are slightly different shades. (in the picture they look like the same shade) and the fabric of the top dress looks like it is able to reflect light differently depending on the angles so in photographs they will probably look like the same color anyway!~
I think they are great choices

If it were me – since its not as noticable on the skirt, I would probably just get a seamstress to replace the sash on the fg dress . and I would probably get her to replace it in ivory that matches the top of the dress – that would be easier to match than matching the blue!

I think it complements it well enough! Cute!

I am totally anal so I would prob replace the sash.. but not return the dress because I am also pretty cheap lol!

It’s hard to tell colors on a monitor. If it bothers you I would replace the sash. The underskirt color is changed by the overlay.

I think things look better when they don’t match perfectly so I’d leave it as is.

I don’t think anyone will really notice. Everyone will be looking at you! But I don’t think the difference is a big deal at all – it’s so minor, I could barely tell.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of changing the sash to an ivory, which will tone down the blue (which @julies1949: is right is altered by the overlay).
@MrsNeutrino: I’m inherently cheap too…hence this query. I’m glad I didn’t get a ton of RETURN IT votes. lol

After my mom, sister, Fiance and 5 year old son all told me that they clearly DID NOT match, I went shopping for a new dress. I *think* I found it on sale at Macy’s today for $30. I can’t return the $14 one to Lord & Taylor, so it looks like my daughter got a new “dress up” dress. lol What do you think?

The new one is just as cute. I liked the first one better, but it’s really up to you.

Honestly, to me, the 2nd Flower Girl dress looks a bit more greener. But both Flower Girl dresses are cute. Maybe you would have to see them together in person. But I mean really its not like the Flower Girl and the BMs are going to be side by side the ENTIRE time. Maybe for the ceremony and pics thats about it.

I like the first flower girl dress, and i don’t think the colors would be that big of deal. I voted just replace the sash tho, because it sounded like it was really bothering you.

I liked the 1st one but I like the 2nd one even better. But I think either one would work great with the Maid/Matron of Honor dress.
