I found a tree nursery that has an event ground that holds up to 300 (but looks fine with 150 as well) and lets you use any other vendors you like. Look for unique things like that. Any state parks, nature observatory type things or, if budget is tighter, community centers. If the budget is bigger, museums are good. One of my friends is looking at a museum in DC that holds 250 and you do everything else seperately (but the venue fee is out of my price range).
Those are great ideas. I should also mention I'm looking for a wedding venue in rural Michigan so museums are out (there are none) :P

Can anyone think of a type of reception venue that allows off site catering and could fit about 200 people? I'm doing some research for my sister and have hit a wall. Thanks!
