I got engaged last June and since then I feel like my life has been in a tizzy…we have had so much going on with our families, new jobs, and buying a house that we have done zero planning for our wedding….When I really started to sit down and attempt to figure everything out this week I was just so overwhelmed and distraught. We were planning on giving ourselves 2 years to save with the plan of getting married in 2012….but that doesn’t look like it is going to happen…we both have very large families and alot of friends.. I don’t want to go into debt with this wedding…and with buying a house saving a huge amount might be hard right now…I really do not want my parents to have to pay for anything….does anyone know of reasonable places in maryland (mainly baltimore city, baltimore county and harford county) to get married along with caterers? It looks like everywhere is mostly 75$ with alcohol and food…but Id like to find something cheaper than that…can anyone help me please????????????thank you!

I’m from Maryland, did you try searching the maryland boards for some information? Or even google, which I just did and found some cool places. You dind’t mention how many people you would be inviting? That could make a difference. We were thinking of getting married in my backyard, i have a HUGE yard and maybe get some tents…. would something like that work out?

Yes unfortunately it’s not cheap to get married in Maryland. Like you said the cheapest I ever found was $75. However my sister in law is getting married at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville. They allow you to bring your own alcohol so that helps reduce the cost. Check them out.

I’m getting married in Harford County, where I’m from. My reception is at Bulle Rock Golf Course. I think you might be able to stay under the $75 per person there, especially if you do the buffet. Bulle rock does everything separate so you choose your entree (sit down or buffet) , then your bar package and then your cocktail hour items.
I think Harford county would probably be cheaper than anything in Baltimore city. You can check out Maryland golf and country club as well. Places where you can bring in a caterer would be Beechtree golf course (I’m blanking on the new name) and Swan Harbor. Also look into Geneva Farms.
I looked into Atlantic Caterers and they were pretty reasonable and you get a lot with their packages including the cake.
