Hi bees, I am sharing my experience with Helzberg as actual jewelers/workers of a craft.
I purchased my FIs ring at the Helzberg in Concord CA. We didn’t choose this company for any reason other than this is where his “dream ring” was found 🙂
(He tried on a lot of bands)
The sales people at this location were all nice and helpful. Good people, well presented. Good face to face service.
The actual RING service offered by Helzberg was horrible.
1) We had my FIs ring sized. It came back to us with a hump/lump of gold inside the band. The shape was not a perfect circle.
(Sales people were very accommodating) and sent it back out.
It returned in perfect condition.
Personally I expect things of this nature to be done correctly the first time. I question their staff behind the scenes who’s left responsible for the well being of our precious items.
2) I had my FIs ring engraved as his wedding present. “My Love, My Everything”
It came back…. My Everything, My Love.
It came back… DIAGONAL inside the ring!! With each saying not in one straight line.
It came back with a SCRATCH in between everything, & My.
Who was this drunk guy engraving my FIs $1,000.00 gold band ?! (1,000 was the sale price too!)
Who is Helzberg hiring to work on precious, important items ?
The sales guy who had been our guy helping us since the beginning, was very apologetic. Had great customer service, didn’t charge me for anything. And convinced me to let him send out the ring again to a different engraver. I explained to him my serious concerns about their staff being qualified to work on jewelry. In the end it was done correctly.
It should have been right the first time.
I have no faith in Helzbergs Bay Area team for behind the scenes jewelry work. Which is unfortunate.
I wish my FI could’ve found a band he loved at Steve Padis in San Francisco. That’s where my wedding set is from. We live in San Ramon and I would rather drive all the way into the city for piece of mind, than remain close and worry if they’ll send the correct ring back in one polished piece.
