I have been freaked out about getting “piles” since like forever………………..well, I discovered one on last night. It’s nowhere near as horrid as I thought that it would be. it doesn’t hurt. It was just very slightly itchy after I took a bath. This was before I knew that it was there. I can hardl tell that it’s there now, though. I am almost 35 weeks and this is my first ever!
Has anyone else had them? Do the witch hazel pads/cream help if they are seemingly mild? When do they go away?

welcome to the club :-)! this seems to be a huge taboo that nobody talks about unless you ask directly… i didn’t even know they existed before getting pregnant and now all my formerly pregnant friends tell me, yeah of course we had them too, just somehow forgot to mention it!
the good news – at least in my case, witch hazel cream does help with making the symptoms less uncomfortable; the bad news – according to my doctor, they won’t go away until after giving birth and might even get worse in the last few weeks and during birth. pelvic tilts are said to make them go away earlier but didn’t do anything for me :-(.
good luck and hang in there!

I hear the witch hazel pads are great for hemorrhoids and after birth for healing tears, so probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some!
