I just had to come on here and rave about our new Henckles knives!

We registered for the Four-Star 7 piece set and we ended up getting two of them, so instead of returning one we exchanged them both for this set: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=12087012

They are expensive, so I had a hard time convincing my hubby that it was a good decision. They just came in, and I just used them for the first time and OH MY GOD! They are AMAZING! I was raving so much and my husband didn't believe that there could be that much difference in a knife, so I made him cut a lemon using our old knife and the exact version of the Heneckles knife. He was shocked at the difference!

I just wanted to recommend these to you guys- register for them- they are sooo worth it!!

Wow that IS expensive! I have a smaller set (that includes 5 knives and the block) for $80 CAD. I guess the extra sets are worth that much more though! I agree...I only use J.A. Henckels - they're great quality knives :D

We have a great Henckles set and I'm now officially afraid of it...I was cutting veggies for a soup I was making and I sliced off a little piece of the tip of my pinkie finger...bled for 2 hours, lots o' fun!  I then heard the man in the kitchen sharpening the knife again because he was afraid my finger might dull the blade!  Jerk.  :)  Be careful :)

Oh yeah, those babies are going on our registry!  Growing up, we've always had Henckles knives and I've gotten so used to them.  Oh the frustration I get when I try to cut tomatoes with another brand knife!

I agree on registering for good quality knives.  We have Wusthofs and LOVE them as well.  And yes, I mind my fingers since I've already removed the end of a fingernail with them!
