Hi Bees we are looking at the Henderson Wharf in downtown baltimore for our wedding venue. I was wondering if anyone has used this venue before and if you could give me some costs. And your experitheir with the hotel.

I’ve not planned or held a wedding here but I’ve attended several other events there.
Rooms are gorgeous, truly one of the most beautiful hotels in Baltimore. They only have guest rooms on the first floor; the rest of the building is condos. You may wish to advise your guests of this; some folks (myself included) do not care for first floor rooms, but I’ve never felt unsafe there (unlike other hotels where I’ve asked to switch to a higher floor after the first night). The water-view is stunning. There is a courtyard in the middle of the hotel which is open air and more private for the ceremony as the dock behind the inn is public. Personally I’d rather have the water view and risk a jogger wandering by though.
The events I’ve been to have all been work functions so I’m not privy to the cost breakdown but knowing the type of budget my manager has to work with, I’d say they are at least competitive.
If you book rooms there as a block, be sure to specify room type (king bed, 2 queen bed, 1 queen bed) and don’t take “run of house” rooms, as they are a small-ish hotel and the run of house rooms get whatever’s left after those with a preference are taken care of. It’s not a big deal if you’re booking the whole hotel as you can play with the list yourself, but if they’re taking public bookings, you could end up with some awkward room setups (like 3 people and just one queen bed). They have a sister property, The Admiral Fell Inn, about 5 minute walk away so that’s a good overflow option.
I’ve always found the staff to be professional, polite, helpful and friendly. If I needed a Baltimore venue, I’d book HW in a heartbeat. Really great place. Plus the location is so perfect— walk 2 blocks to all the pubs and restaurants on Fells Point, another block to the water taxi, but the hotel itself is on this super quiet street that ends at the marina. So you get all the convenience and fun of being downtown without the noise.

Hmm… My DH went there on his parents’ recommendation when we were scouting venues, and we were told they did not host weddings…. This was in January, 2011 when we inquired. I’m going to be irritated if they lied to me. I liked it as well.
