- Wedding: October 2013
Ok so we are thinking about having the ceremony start at 2:30pm. It will last about 30 mins. The Reception site is only a 10 minute drive. The guests will head straight there, and cocktail hour will be till about 4:30. Were doing an hour and a half long cocktail hour because we want to be able to get pictures done and then have time to mingle with the guests and corral them for dinner (the DJ will not be getting there till 5 so there will be no formal introductions, and we do not have a coordinator). Dinner will run from about 4:30-5:30, it is a simple bbq buffet, tables will go up one at a time to get food. Then we will do our dances, and me and the groom are going to give a special thanks to our wedding party and family as we introduce them. After that, the bar will open back up (open bar) and dancing will continue till around 8 when we cut the cake. More dancing till 10. Then the DJ leaves. We will probably hang around till 11 or so drinking or winding down. So altogether the wedding will be officially 7 1/2 hours,81/2 for some that stay after dj leaves, does that seem to long? And do you think it will be a big deal that the dj is not there when dinner starts? We plan on having some speakers to an ipod for music before he comes. Any advice/warnings/compliments welcome!
