So I had an awkward conversation with my mother today. She offered me her Victoria Secret Angels card to get something for my honeymoon. Which is sweet but also kinda like hey daughter of mine go buy something to have sex in!!

@shootznladrz89: That’s not unusual. My friend’s mom actually saw the lingerie she wore for her wedding night!

@shootznladrz89: They sell PJs too!! Let’s pretend that she wants you to go buy PJs. For sleeping 😀

One of my friends got married 2 weeks ago and her mom gifted her lingerie at the shower. NBD.

Traditionally the mother buys the lingerie (peignoir) for her daughter’s first night of being a married women and gives it at the shower.

We do our laundry at FMIL’s house (so that we don’t have to pay for it), and we brought it home on Sunday, started putting it away, and found four VERY brightly colored, new with tags thongs. She has definitely seen my underwear before, and it is NEVER thongs, especially not lime green leopard print and hot pink with a bright blue/yellow print.

@shootznladrz89: LOOOOL! omg! i would feel the same way. like “thanks mom… i bought some thongs and crotchless panties… do we need to talk about this cuz i’d rather not”

Maybe it’s just that I don’t have that kind of relationship with my mom. I blushed and was stammered a bit

@shootznladrz89: “Mom” and “crotchless panties” should NEVER be used in the same sentence. Awkward, nasty, icky…. ooooooooh geez.

@shootznladrz89: not awkward. my mom bought me a super sexy teddy/thong/garter combo from victoria’s secret for the wedding night and i was SUPER jazzed. it just wasn’t something i was going to go buy myself so i was so excited! we have an open and honest relationship like that though, and i know some mother/daughter situations aren’t that way.
