it’s the allure 8850 which i LOVE. I like the idea of a veil, but every veil i’ve tried on just doesn’t look quite right. should i just stick with flowers in my hair like i originally planned?
and that brings me to another question….what should i do with my hair? i am thinking hair up and low in the back.
any thoughts? thanks guys.
and sorry for the mega picture. i don’t know how to resize!

@jschumann333: I would love a veil with that dress, probably cathedral length… but then I’m a sucker for a veil.

I love veils… and I think a veil would look awesome with your GORGEOUS dress!

I also LOVE veils. When are you ever going to have the chance to wear a veil again? A veil would look amazing with that dress, a long one would me perfect IMO.

Your dress would look beautiful with a fingertip veil!!

I think that your hair up like you described with flowers in it would look amazing with that dress and no veil.

I think a veil would look amazing! What about something with some lace trim? I’m also seconding the fingertip length suggestion. 🙂

maybe a lace edge veil.. but one with the softer lace? I think a two tier cathedral or a fingertip would look good. Also it looks like your dress is ivory??? make sure you’re NOT trying on a veil that has white lace.. that may be why it looks off?

@Woodstock: my dress actually ivory with a light gold layer underneath, so i guess it’s a little darker than ivory. maybe that’s the problem. i’ve tried on ivory veils with lace edging but it’s like the lace doesn’t match or something…. like I said, it’s just off somehow. I have seen a double tier cathedral length (where it covers your face in the front down to the fingertip length) on a bee with a dress cut similarly to mine, but it had no edging at all, just plain tulle. i kind of like that idea; i don’t want to look overdone but i still think i want a veil so i can feel “bridal”, you know? but none of the shops i’ve been in have a plain veil, they all have beading or lace on them….

@jschumann333: yes i would wear a cathedral veil that dress is stunning on you!

I say no veil. I think your dress is really beautiful on it’s own. I agree with your hair low and up. . . with a flower headpiece. =)

@jschumann333: Thank you so much for posting this pic! I ordered 8850 in light gold too, and I’ve had a lot of anxiety about it ever since. I saw another allure style in the color, and it seemed really dark. But when I look at pictures like yours, I fall in love with it all over again. Please come back and share your wedding photos when the time comes! It’s so hard to find real pics of this gown.
I bought my veil from a local girl whose wedding was cancelled. It’s ivory and has some pearl beading. I thought it matched the allure ivory lace perfectly. It’s chapel length, but I’m tall, so it’s floor length on me.

you will look gorgeous either with or without a veil – you should do whatever you feel comfortable with!

Veils make for fun photo ops. Especially catherdral veils. Then you can take it off and add a flower later for the reception. Stunning dress on you!
