So this is my dress-Justin Alexander Sincerity Bridal 3606. I really love the way the bodice wraps me up-ruched and covered with lace appliques for a vintage feel. The skirt is dreamy organza (I had the girl pin back the skirt to mimick taking it in from thigh to knee for more of a mermaid effect). The only thing I am a little regretful about here is that I have always wanted more lace. My original idea was to get an all lace gown (with little to no beading or embellishments) and though this dress has lots of lace appliques on the bodice that crawls down the skit a bit I am a still a bit sad that there is not lace in the skirt. My options (which are by no means inexpensive) are to order a bunch of extra appliques (about 2″ by 6″) and add them to the organza layer of the skirt, or possibly to have my lady unstitch the skirt and add in a layer of lace (which would be the best mimic of size and dispersion of what’s on the bodice for continuity). What do you think? Will the dress look weird if I do this? Too busy or something? I want it to be worth it.
The thing is that when I tried on gowns I really loved some of the ones that had all lace skirts-real nice alencon lace, etc. I love the swing of it and the vintage feel. So beautiful. At the same time there weren’t many dresses that had this that I also loved the bodice of. Yes, I am picky. I tried on Enzoani Fernanda which is similar in bodice to this Sincerity dress (but with a poofy skirt) and I got this idea in my head to marry this type of bodice with a lace skirt. I just don’t want to regret ignoring my gut feeling for my wedding.
I do really love this dress and I feel quite lovely in it-really suits me (note the dress sample was a bit too small for me so it looks a bit weird in these pics.
