Hrm, I would definitely tell guests not to book until the invites go out if you do it that way. That being said, congratulations and welcome to the hive! 🙂

Don’t send a save the date if you don’t know that’s the date that needs to be saved. Just wait until you have it all worked out and if it’s too close to the wedding date, just send the invitations. Skip save the dates.

@Nellyfb15:  I would likely just skip save the dates. But, if you want to tell people who are going to be travelling or might be working on that date, I would say, “I am tentatively booking my wedding for Aug 8. I won’t know for sure until May. If you could please keep it open, I would appreciate that, but if you can’t I totally understand. Invites will go out as soon as I’m sure, so don’t do anything until then, just keep it in the back of your mind.” I would do it via word of mouth. But really, I probably wouldn’t say anything unless someone asked, I wouldn’t send save the dates and I would just wait until I know for sure.
