Just sending a sweet hello to the other August 7, 2010 brides out there!  Are you knee deep into planning yet?

We're sending off the std's this week and then going to begin the planning for the invitations next w/the designer!

We've got our photographer, venues, and only to confirm florist soon.  I have a friendor who's a local florist and designer who's helping me make some mossy seashell pomanders and going to get the bouts and bm bouquets from an etsy designer (shells) and my bouquet is going to be ready today and it's going to be gorgeous!  (Romantic Flowers-Kimberly Aurora Kapur is making it)  Yes it's a seashell bouquet!

Last thing on my list is the dress, which will be purchased early next month.  I'm doing good on the diet, going to try to crank out another 10 lbs before I go to select the dress~

It's going well here in GA.  Our beachy wedding is coming together!  Now to update the blog when I have the time :)

Wishing all of my date twins happy planning!

We are sending out our STDs on Monday. We have our invitation proofs and just need to make a few changes, then they will be done and here in about a week!

Got measured for my dress while I was home, so that's out of the way. Just need to lose the poundage.

Bought the flower girl wand ribbons and downs yesterday, so that was exciting! Lots of ribbon, and the guy at Joanns let me use like, 4 coupons so he took 10$ off my total! I didn't ask him, he just scanned all the ones on the sheet, lol.

I need to find a DJ. That's a serious and pressing issue, apparently (and according to my mom).

Oh, and we chose a cake baker. That was the hardest decision in the world!

    Awesome girl!

I've got to go and see if I can finish up some of the stuff, yes including the wands too!  I'm totally torn b/w the wands and a firefly basket that I saw from an etsy vendor.  It's so cute!

Oh, I made the drink monograms (cute little circles with our logo and fun day of wedding logos on them (including the crazy cute sign that's symbolic for Pensacola) on them to dress up the cocktails and drinks!

going to use the template from my designer to diy the menus, and also to diy the cupcake recipe cards for the reception from my grandma's recipe!

Things are good.  Just got to solidify florist soon.  We really need to go do our site visit, but can't do it until school lets out now.  Alot is goin' on.  Gimme a call btw.

Hugs to all our date twins!!!

We've got everything (venue, photography, DJ, flowers) confirmed.  We sent out our STDs super early haha.  My friend is in the beginning process of designing our invites.  My bridesmaids just ordered their dresses so right now it's just writing lists and finishing up our few DIY projects (tissue pomanders and paper mache lanterns)

    hi date twins! :)

i did a bunch of the planning in the first few months we got engaged, so i'm at the slow stage of planning now, which is good because i have enough going on with figuring out grad school, moving to new york, apartment hunting, job searching for fi....

std's went out about a month ago, but there were some wrong addresses that got returned to us and some addresses we still needed to track down...we just approved the final proof for our invites on friday, so that's exciting! and the order for bridesmaid dresses went in a few days ago.

we still need to chose a baker/decide if we're doing cupcakes, which we're leaning towards, but i want to try some more cake (because why not eat more and more cake??)

i bought shoes yesterday!! i'd been looking sort of slowly, and found a pair at a store yesterday that's pretty much perfect! they weren't in my size so i'll get them mid-week in the mail...and a skirt for engagement photos and a dress for my bridal shower and other people's weddings and rehearsal dinners (it's a big wedding year, besides us!)

hmmm and i talked to the lady who cuts my hair about doing trials for my hair/make-up in june...we haven't talked about cost yet, which makes me nervous, and she's kind of pushy in general, but there will still be time to find someone else if she falls through in june (right??)

    Awesome!

that does remind me..I'm going to get a hair re-do very soon.  I've let it grow, but am wanting a bit more layers for the wedding and a color tweak.

I'm also going to start getting facials and having a bit of tanning (spray on, I'm a safe chickie and in health care) started then too.  Will also be seeking soon a hairstylist.  Not sure if about makeup, but might get one just  b/c I hate putting on false eyelashes.   I'm used to doing my makeup myself (courtesy of being in Miss America/USA stuff back in college), but prob can swing the eyelashes.  Just want bigger eyes in pics.

I'm in somewhat of a lull too.  But it's a good lull.  I'll be going wedding nuts this time next month!  Just have to get through 3 weeks..(child custody issue regarding the wacky ex).  it'll all be good come April 15!

We're busy with premarital counseling.  Today is our 5th session, and I think we'll be doing 8 or 9 overall.  It's sort of a slow period, since we secured a lot of our vendors a few months ago.

We're going to buy invitations toward the end of the month, and I have been working on some DIY response cards and enclosures.  I have a handful of other DIY projects in the works.

Tomorrow is my hair and makeup trial to see if I want to book this stylist to do my hair & makeup the day of.  I'm excited about that!

We're planning an iPod playlist instead of a DJ, and we are slowly pulling that together.  It's sort of the ongoing DIY project that just won't finish.  Haha!

Our engagement pictures are scheduled for the beginning of April, but I am busy acquiring props to use for them.  :-)

My bridesmaids are pulling together details for a memorial day weekend bachelorette party and bridal shower....so that's exciting, too.

I need to make a list of everything we have done, 'kay?

    I have done:

    - Church

    - Officiant

    - Reception Site

    - Caterer

    - Cakery

    - Photographer

    - Invitations

    - Dress

    - Florist

I randomly started feeling SUPER behind this morning so I needed a reality check!

The big drama at the moment is bridesmaid dress, color, no less! *rolleyes*

Working actively on the home brew.

Really got to kick in high gear on finalizing our invite design because I want to start printing them in small batches.
Really got to get going on all the other DIY projects as well.

Things will really start moving next month but for this month we had some other stuff going on.

And oh! find an officiant. Oddly enough I'm not too concerned about this one. Either way I'm sure I'll find someone.

    Hey date twins!

Well we finally started to register yesterday.  We spent over an hour at Bed Bath and Beyond and at that point I was DONE with registering and then I looked at our registry and it only had 20 items on it!  Well next week we are Crate and Barrel bound, wish us luck.

Stuff that's already done inclues booked venue, reception, JP, photographer, DJ, honeymoon, and bought our bands.

On our to-do list for the rest of the month:  start working on invititaions, florist consult, and our tasting!

I am so ready for this planning to be over!

    Hi Date Twins!

We just got our wedding cake done - and that was my last "big" thing! In the next few months I need to:

    Find a hair stylist/MUA

    Do hair trial/ mu trial

Find jewelry for the big day

    Finish BM gifts

Nag the guys to get tuxes

    Finalize music with DJ

    Finalize menu with caterer

    Meet with photographer

Buy Candy for our Candy Buffet

I'm feeling pretty good overall, I've been planning eight hours away, so I had to do a lot of stuff all at once! I can't believe we're getting so close! Now I really need to get my weight loss in action!

My big task right now is the DJ.  I just finished obsessing over the rings and think I know what I want now (but of course, that could change).

And I still have to find bridesmaid dresses!  That one is kind of the most nagging wedding detail on my brain right now.  I didn't know finding bridesmaid dresses would be harder than finding my wedding dress.

@shertz1981- my STDs went out in December since everyone is OOT, so I'm in the early boat with you!

I need to find some inspiration to jump back into the planning phase.  All the big stuff was done what seems like forever ago, so I think I'm left with the details.  I just ordered the flower girl dresses and want to find fuchsia shoes for them to wear.  I really need to find a couple of days to sneak away from work and travel to our wedding location so I can finalize the meal & beverages for the reception, meet with the florist to finalize centerpiece options, and meet the photographer.  I also need to figure out where to have our RSVP's sent if our house doesn't sell within the next month so I can then have our invitations printed!

Oh, and the people from the salon I go to who volunteered to travel to the wedding do my hair and make up just told me they might not be able to take a Saturday off, so I need to find someone to do the bridal party's hair.  I'm not willing to wait around to see if it will all work out.  I would have though they would have cleared the day off when they asked me five months ago.  grrrr....

One more fun thing out of the way ... I think I have both my shower outfits (pending how the purple dress fits). I need a dove grey cardi for the one-shoulder dress, though.

Hi everyone! First post here - just looked at the calendar and realised there are only FOUR MONTHS to go! Total freak out... So I thought I'd get chatting to some fellow brides to help move me along :)

    So far we have -

    Church

    Marquee

    Caterer (www.morans.co.uk) Yum!

    Photographer (www.lightoverwater.co.uk) Love!

    Cake - DSIL-to-be! (www.londoncake.co.uk)

Dress & bridesmaid dresses (7! Eek! Serves me right for being overly sentimental, but I got a fab bargain - only £25.50 each)

... And that's it! This weekend I'm planning to assemble the invitations, as our friends are getting married in ten days and we didn't want to muscle in with ours until theirs was done!

    How's everyone getting on?

@shertz1981 - beautiful outfits! I love the way you guys do bridal showers - so much more sophisticated than our hen nights! ;) I think I'll have to adopt the idea when my MOH gets married!

    Hey date twins! =]

I have the church, the cake, cake topper, dress in layaway, shoes, centerpiece decorations, paper lanterns, shower dates confirmed, shower invitations, wedding invitations, personalized napkins, and some DIY stuff upstairs that REALLY needs to be tackled ASAP.

I feel soooo stressed out because I dont have any BM dresses, flowergirl dresses, junior BM dresses, their shoes, men's suits, aisle runner, OR programs in progress! I have picked out a few BM dresses but one of my MOH is so darn picky, she doesnt like anything!

Hope the rest of your planning goes smoothly, I'm sure hoping mine does!!

Hey everybody!  I'm happy too and happy four months to go!

I've gotten my std's halfway sent out now and will post pics tomorrow!  They're so cute!  Found the exact font match and color for the addressing of them on the front of the envelope.

Think I found THE florist for the biggie stuff and am now in talks w/an event company for linens and draping my open-air venue (arched areas)for the reception overlooking the beach!

Getting ready to go to dinner tonight w/FI at one of our fave spots (Sugo!).  have a fabulous weekend!

tomorrow sleeves are being rolled up all day to work on house and get to moving.  I slacked off today.  But did do 2 miles!

For some reason I keep putting off those darn invites. I think it's because I'm bummed the punch I got can't be done from the top and has to be on the bottom. :(

Spent most of Sunday soaking beer bottles, cleaning, scraping, sanitizing. Bottle Trial #2 tonight. Gotta make trial #3 soon! Realized I have to start drinking my Woodchuck Draft Cider or I won't have enough bottles for the apple cider we're making for the 21 and under.

I am def starting to feel the pressure.  I think I will feel loads better once I get my a$$ moving on the invites. Get the flower girl dresses and BM dress situation resolved. Le sigh.

    Hi Bees!

I'm a August 7th bride too! I am procrastinating with my invites too. Why did I ever decide to DIY?? LOL! I meet with FMIL's friend who is printer on Wednesday.

Just finished sending out STD's. Currently looking for flowergirl dress. Finished a template for water bottle labels....now to have them printed and affixed to the bottles...lol!

@Gerbera: I used the template online at this website http://ruffledblog.com/2009/04/entry-25-diy-water-bottle-labels/

I placed packaging tape over the labels for the glossy effect. I printed the labels on regular printing paper. Water bottles I used were Nestle. HTH!

    Hey date twins!

What do I have done... let's see...

    • Groom? Check.
    • Bride? Check.
    • Venue, food and accommodations? Check.
    • Wedding party? Check.
    • Ladies' dresses? One has hers in the works, the three others are still sorting out theirs.
    • My dress? To be ordered this weekend. I was holding off for a number of reasons, but have found a dress that I really love. :)
    • Groom's clothes? We know what we want, but haven't gone to find them yet.
    • Photographer? Check. Originally it was going to be a friend of ours, but my uncle (a former photo-journalist and amazing photog!) has offered to do the photos for us. A very generous offer, and an unexpected but appreciated one.
    • Wedsite? Check. All set to add the RSVP form (thanks Google Sites and Documents and all you can do!)
    • Bachelorette gathering? Check - friends took me to the local circus school! *happydance*
    • Bachelor gathering? Check - trip to Montreal this past weekend.
    • Bridal shower/party/gathering? Check - going to my parents' for the May long weekend for an open house celebration.
    • Cake? Not ordered yet, but we're likely going to get a small cake for the "cake cutting" and a bunch of great desserts from a patisserie (fancy term for a bake shop) down the street. Very excited about that! :)
    • Cake topper? Check. I highly recommend The Girl in Yellow!
    • Invitations? Check.

We did informal STDs with family and friends, as well as phone calls and e-mails to those we weren't sure about whether they'd be able to make the trip to Halifax for the wedding.

Only 112 days to go! Woo hoo! LaughingSmileCool

Nope. Not unless you have TONS of OOT guests and did not do Save The Dates I think you're totally fine!

I'm planning on first week of June.

FI is starting to get a tad stressed out. Imma have to keep new DIY ideas to myself until we get our current list finished. hehe.

100 days!  I am excited about it, not stressed out.  Our to-do list is moving right along.

Our invitations won't go out until the first week of June.  Sending them any earlier than would just make it easier for people to lose them.

We've been on schedule for the most part but now with *100 days* left, I too keep finding little DIY projects that I want to add! Since we're done with mostly everything else, I'm going to be tackling DIY fan/paddle programs, and as of last night we're adding a candy buffet!

Haven't sent out invites yet--will probably do the first week of June as well.
