@cosmocity: We almost went with Grey Rock Mansion on Reisterstown Road for our wedding but in the end decided on a place in Mount Vernon. How's your planning going? I'm planning from New York so I'm always looking for vendor recommendations in the Baltimore area since I only have time to meet with so many people, so let me know if you've found anyone you love!
@pb and j - what venue did you go with?
My wedding is this weekend. 2 vendors who I have really loved are my photographer - Procopio Photography and my florist - Local Color Flowers. I'd definitely recommend either of them. They've both been a pleasure to work with. And, my engagement photos were awesome, so I have no doubt my wedding photos will be just as fantastic.
We are using Baldwin Hall for ceremony and reception and have a co-worker doing photography. That's about all we have..we're stuck on catering
@LadyGoodman: we finally decided on the engineer's club. we went back and forth a million times, but it feels sooo good to have made a decision finally. i'm faxing our contract in with our deposit tomorrow, and it will officially be exactly one year until the wedding!
@cosmocity: check out simply elegant. they own grey rock but are also an amazing catering company. their food is wonderful and they are extremely reasonably priced. their website kind of sucks though so don't be turned off by that. in person they are the nicest people ever and i seriously felt like i was breaking up with a boyfriend or something when i called to tell them they could release the date we had on hold there. if our venue allowed outside caterers we would book simply elegant in a second.
@pbandj - the Engineer's Club is gorgeous! It's an awesome place to have a wedding. I've been to a number of events there and they've all been memorable! Best of luck!
@LadyGoodman: Do you know the price tag for something like that? We're having a small wedding (50 guests max) so we're keeping our smaller venue, I am curious though!
i am looking for someone to do up lighting!!!! need asap as the date is 10/10/10 boy is it coming fast
@LadyGoodman: We hired Procopio as well and absolutely adore them!
Yeah...sooo, we scratched all our plans :) Now we are going with a restaruant so it's pretty much all inclusive. We'll do our own IPOD D.j, bring in a photographer, decorations and the rest is taken care of. They even set things up before we arrive, so it's sort of like having a coordinator too!
it's daytime which I'm still warming up to, but we are still having an open bar which I know my friends will love LOL
Booking a restarunt was the way to go! We have 57 on our list but are expecting about 50
