Holy cow... can you believe that our month is almost HERE?? I felt like this would never come! We have our final meeting with our venue this afternoon, I have my hair and makeup trials on Monday, and my first dress fitting on Tuesday! I'm also meeting with our rehearsal dinner place this weekend to decide on a menu. Here are the projects I'm still working on:

    - getting RSVP numbers and doing seating chart/escort cards

    - making a picture wall

    - finishing programs (they're almost done!)

    - sewing the draping for our ceremony

    - staining our "love letter" box

    - buying alcohol

    - buying faux-to-booth props

    - getting photos printed to display in frames at the reception

    - assembling centerpieces

    - out of town bags

    - favors

    - writing all of our thank you notes and our love letters to each other

    yikes!!

how is everyone else coming along?

@CorgiTales: No, I really can't believe it. December flew by but January has been soooo sloooooowwwwww...it's about time February showed itself! :)

    Still on our to-do lists:

    - Track down the last couple of straggling RSVPs

    - First dress fitting for me on Saturday, makeup trial tomorrow

    - Pick out FI's suit on Friday

    - Seating chart

    - Wishing tree

    - Finalize our vows

    - Go over music selections and do-not-play list with the dj

    - Figure out rehearsal dinner location and make reservations

    - Thank you notes

    - Kiss the ground my wedding planner walks upon for finding and dealing with the most awesome vendors ever

I have my hair and makeup trial on Monday too! We're also getting our marriage license that day (hey, I'll have pretty hair!).

I think a few of you know that our venue burned down and that they are rebuilding it---we still don't know if it's going to be ready for us or if we're going to be using a tent. Yikes! I am more than a little stressed about that part.

Other than that, family members are driving me insane and I can't wait for the wedding week to be here. I'm just about 3 weeks away! WOW.

    I can't believe it's here!

    We still have to:

-make do not play lists for the dj

-get our marriage license once we fly into town for the wedding

    -pay some people

-track down RSVPs for approximately 80 (can you believe that?!) people

    -make seating chart

-finalize the menu for the reception

-grab a few more goodies for out of town baskets

-write thank you notes and love notes to each other for the wedding day

-buy plane tickets for two groomsmen who just told us last night they can't afford the flight.  I'm super pleased about that one.

@Miss Olive: yikes... I'd be super annoyed about both the RSVPs and the groomsmen!

@blondeeebuckeye: i don't think I knew that your venue burned down! You are a much more patient person than I am I think... I'd prob be pretty freaked out!

We got our marriage license this past Monday. Yay!

@CorgiTales: haha yeah, it kind of got struck by lightening back in june and burnt to the ground. we didn't think we would be in this situation 3 weeks before the wedding, but i've accepted that there is nothing i can do about it and will just work with what they give us :) it took me a long time to get to this point though. we may also be able to use the new ballroom even if it's not finished (we like to reference ross and emily's wedding from friends). we will see :)

Yay, it's officially February! Was it just me or did January go by reallllly slowly? I'm not freaking out yet, but I'm sure that will change!

Random story, a guy I used to know is getting married in on the 19th. Apparently he and his fiancee had their venue fall through at the last minute, and they've moved their reception to...wait for it...the same restaurant ours is at :)

Anyway, one of our mutual friends is coming to both our weddings and had bought a dress she planned on wearing to both. She's laughing herself silly now because she can just imagine the restaurant staff seeing her come in for my wedding a week after his, and going, "Haven't I seen you here for another wedding recently, in that same dress?" LOL.

It's crazy - I feel like 2 months ago I had a year to plan and now I have 3 weeks! I still have:

    • Figure out rehearsal dinner stuff
    • Make programs, seating cards, bathroom baskets, etc...
    • Finalize ceremony
    • Write vows
    • Finalize decoration stuff
    • Get guests organized for trips, etc...
    • Finalize transportation
    • Send picture list to photographer
    • Finalize ceremony/cocktail hour music
    • All the other little things, like picking up my dress and booking hair/makeup

Geez, I have to stop writing or I'm going to get myself stressed :)  Good luck to everyone keeping sane this month!

Congrats to those of you who got married this weekend!

We're at 13 days now and our entire weekend has been spent wrapping things up.

I'm definitely a little stressed about our venue (which burned down in June..still hoping it will be open for us), and nervous about the weather. I can't wait until the 19th pops up on the 10 day forecast!

    How is everyone holding up?

I am veering on a daily basis from eerily calm to absolutely out of my mind nervous and panicked!

We had a kerfuffle last week when it looked like my fiance's sister was not going to be allowed to come to the wedding because her grades aren't great (she's a freshman in college). Our wedding is parents and siblings only, so her absence would be huge and would hurt my fiance enormously. Luckily everything has worked out, and she is coming. Not sure I can be civil to my future in-laws after pulling this stunt though (they hadn't even looked to see what options there were to get her to the wedding and back while only missing one day of classes).

So really after getting that sorted out, everything else is gravy. :) I am picking up my dress on the 19th, my passport is ready to go, and our legal documents have been approved, and our license to marry in Bermuda is in effect!
