Hey!
We're sleepy over here. They're filming a movie outside of our apartment, and there were a film crew, giant diffuser lights, and a Clydesdale clomping around until 4am. (This is right outside the Biltmore, mind you). It was fun to watch though! I stalked them from the balcony with my telephoto lens. :p
We also put up our Christmas tree. The cat is pretty entertained by it.
Oh how cool! Is that the movie with Josh Duhamel in it? I saw he and Fergie were here last week.
How's your wedding planning going? I loved the fact your venue was your house!!! How cool!

Last night I had a great girl's evening with one of my good friends, who is WAITING to get engaged. I was telling her about WeddingBee and how she should join so that she'd have a community of support, instead of occasionally griping at her man. Maybe we'll be seeing her around here soon :)
Later this afternoon I have an engagement shoot with a sweet couple over at the Houston Mill House. Should be a good one! Such a pretty day outside!
It's been going great, actually. I think the newest things that have happened are that we booked the florist, who's also re-landscaping the entire property, and had our engagement shoot. For our actual wedding flowers, we're doing peonies, poppies, dahlias, and billy buttons. Exciting.
The engagement shoot was SO MUCH FUN. I can't wait to see the pictures. We did some ridiculous things, and I think my street cred went up like 1000 points. :p (At one point we were laying on a median that was no more than 6' wide under an overpass on Moreland Ave., complete with rushing cars, hubcaps, ants, and brambley things).
Edit: Oh, and the movie! I'm guessing it's a Disney Channel movie, tbh. There was a preteen girl on the horse, and it reminded me of one of their movies. :p

@50, I too can't wait to see your e-pics!! It sounds like a great time. Isn't it so much fun to just do whatever you feel like and let loose? I know they'll turn out AMAZING!
@50, those are great pics! It does feel like Disney to me. What a cute kid and horse btw. I love it how your florist is re-designing the backyard plantings. Now that's a florist!!!
Your wedding sounds awesome. I love it! Can't wait to see your pics too girl. If we have it at the clubhouse nearby, it will literally almost like having it at home. I could do crazy cool details that way..who knows where we'll end up getting married.
We're getting super close now to the E. It's goin' DOOOOOOWN! High fiiieeeve (a la Borat!).
I saw the pic earlier this week of Josh and Fergie at Chops. It was kinda fun seeing them there in the pic b/c that's where my re-bachelorette dinner was held when I got single!
@QueenBecca: Glad you're having a great weekend too! Are you a photographer? I hope that photoshoot goes great! Where are you getting married? Spill!
Yup, I'm a photographer and a newlywed :) My husband and I met while we were in law school down in Macon at Mercer, and we got married this April down in Florida. We moved up to Vinings after we graduated and are enjoying it up here a lot!
Our wedding was wonderful (although not as wonderful as our honeymoon!!), and I still love coming on here to chat about other's weddings and see what they're planning. I recently resurrected my wedding website (it had stopped being hosted, but I figured out a sneaky way to make it reappear) and am so excited I can show it to people again. We worked *so* hard on it, and the guests loved it.

@50 How neat that you saw a movie being filmed! It's one of those things that you just have to watch when it's going on because it's so cool to see the behind the scenes. At least I think so :)
@Bellenga, my friend's bf (the same friend who is waiting for him to become her FI) is a bartender at Chops (which is sweet because the hubs and I go drink for free there and have fancy date night for cheap!) and he saw them in there.
The owner of the restaurant took the picture of them at the restaurant, and then turned around and sold it to the celebrity mags, which I thought was not very nice.
The first time I ever went to Chops I saw Usher there. It's quite the celebrity spot! And of course their food is DELISH!
Chops is great. But his boss doing that is uncool.
The night we were there for my re-bachelorette party, there were 10 or so of us, and we had way too much wine but they got us a limo.
It was so much fun. But that pic of them almost looked like they were downstairs at the Lobster Bar didn't it?

@QB: I love that pic of you lounging like a lady of leisure on that round cushion thingie. What a glamorous photo on the honeymoon! Looks like you had a blast!
That's nice of them to get you girls a limo!! Their service is great. My friend's bf works both upstairs and downstairs at the Lobster Bar, they're owned by the same person.
Either way, I hope all the stories about him cheating on Fergie with the stripper are untrue. Cheating on your spouse, whether you're a celeb or not, makes me sad :(
@Bellenga: Thanks so much! It was such an amazing vacation, and we happened to be in Mexico the week before swine flu hit, so we got really lucky. We had such a great time, I wanted to see if the resort was running a "swine flu special" because I'd totally have risked it to go back! Haha, I know I'm weird.
We plan on going back when we have the time/money (more an issue of money more than anything) and we've convinced at least three other couples to go there for their honeymoon. We loved it!!
They got me a limo (my friends all chipped in for it for the night!).
I sure hope those rumors aren't true either. They're a super cute couple.

The facebook album doesn't have that many because lots of the files were too big and I didn't feel like resizing them all. There were a ton of proofs (about 2500) because we took pictures for so long before the ceremony even started. It was all worth it though!
Nice! Hi all! I'm not currently in Atlanta, but I'm in Virginia, which is MUCH closer than I usually am(I live in Arizona)! So, in a way, I feel a lot closer to Atlanta right now. :)
I'm getting married in Atlanta next spring, and QueenBecca is my photographer! Nice wedding website, by the way! I'm trying to get ours ready before we send out the information, and it's such a pain.

@Rocktsrgn: Be patient, the website takes time! I think ours took me probably 10 hours of work (not all in one day of course) to get ready over time. They are really helpful for organizing all the info in one place though.
However, be warned that even though you put all the info out there, guests will still be asking at the front desk of the hotel "Where is the wedding and what time is it?" Ugh.
Which is why a honeymoon afterwards is entirely necessary :)
@Rocksgrtn! So happy you're here and glad to have a new atlanta hive buddy! You're gonna have a beautiful wedding here. I mean look..it's november and it's 80 degrees! Unless you have the renegade out of nowhere crazy flash floods.
I think 2009 here will be the "year of the floods".

We didn't really have a theme, but the underlying vibe of the day was supposed to be just simply classically elegant. Glad you liked the pics! We loved our photographer, and one of our groomsmen is actually using him for his wedding this coming March :)
We had our engagement shoot today! It was at Stone Mountain Park and the weather was perfect!

Aww, thanks bellenga. Hope you girls are having a better weekend than I am. My grandma is in a coma and will die this week or next.
It was fun! We did NOTHING. Seriously - laid in bed for a looong time every morning, only left the house if we wanted to, ate out as much as possible (and gained at least 10 lbs), watched a zillion movies, played a zillion video games, read, relaxed, went shopping, talked, etc.....
Neither of us have taken a legit vacation from work in over two years. The most time I've had off in those two years was for surgery. We just wanted to do NOTHING. And we did!!
The honeymoon is being planned for March! :)
Hey girls! I'm in the Atlanta area and became engaged last month. We are planning on getting married in Las Vegas October 10th, 10/10/10, my fiancee picked it and he is super proud of that! We are planning a trip out there soon to look at venues, very exciting...and all i've done this weekend is work work work!! But the store I work at is closing this week, so I have to look look look for a new job! AHH! I hate that!
@NicLoop: I hope you can find a job soon. I'm trying to start working again next year because I want the extra money!

Hello!! Hope everybody had a great weekend!! FI and I took our munchkin to Yellow River Game Ranch for like the millionth time, lol. Poor animals were hurt by all of the flooding though and some of them washed away.
@Nic A Vegas wedding on 10.10.10 sounds freaking awesome! You can have so much fun with favors with that venue and that date! I can see the coozies already!

@MissAsB - so sorry to hear about your grandma, you guys are in my thoughts. I went through that 2 weeks after our wedding earlier this year....so I'll be thinking about ya girl.
I keep missing all the threads I want to see today! My dad works in the office building right next to Chops and the St. Regis... but he's moving to wave building in Buckhead. So, so sad! The waiters at Chops knew him by name because he goes to lunch there EVERY SINGLE DAY! Lame.
Is it sad that I have no recollection of what I did this weekend? I know I worked on Sunday but other than that, I'm drawing a blank!
