I know this is an unbelievably hard time for you right now, but you are REALLY doing the right thing by holding off on the wedding planning.
It will give your FI time to learn how to manage his relationship with his parents better, and to ensure that your marriage will start on a more solid foundation. Or if he just isn't ready for marriage, it is better to learn that now than after the wedding (or especially after children).
I am so sorry that you have to go through this, and hope that all works out for the best (either he matures and becomes ready for marriage soon, or if that's not possible I hope that you will soon meet a wonderful man who will be ready to appreciate and support you).

For a little while, at least. Some of you may have seen my other post, about FI. Well, if it's not one thing, it's another, and I found out this wedding may be pushed back even farther (if it happens at all, at this point) because of his poor planning for the future. I want to stay, but every day it kills me watching other people plan their weddings. I love you all so much, you are all like friends to me.
Maybe when I have a date, I will be able to come back and be ok with seeing this stuff. But for now, I just need to focus on something that isn't wedding related. I thought about slipping under the radar, but who am I kidding--that's not me! I tell you guys everything via my board posts, and so, i'm telling you this now.
I wish you nothing but good in planning your beautiful weddings, your dream honeymoons and your lovely lives, and thank you so much for making my time in the hive welcoming and happy. Best wishes!
