I know from the thread on the encore board that there's a whole bunch of 40 something brides out there!  How cool that we have our own little board!  :-)

(I just couldn't stand to leave it empty once I spotted it! LOL)

I'm happy to see the new boards as well! I haven't been able to be on much lately as we are moving next week and have been packing along with all the holiday stuff. I'll be back on more often once the move is complete!

I'm torn whether I should be on this board or the 30 something.  Our wedding is in May but I turn 40 in August.  I just think I feel more 40 than 30!!  I'm also a first time bride though so not sure if most 40 somethings are encores?!?

So, if I'm 56, am I supposed to be in 40-somethings?  Or is there a separate category for the dinosaurs?  LOL

We got requests for 20 something, 30 something, and 40 something boards... but nothing beyond that point.  So we figured we'd start with those three, and go from there!

If you'd like to request another board, please post to our ideas forum!

Oh, we have something in common.  I'm also 7 years older than my fiance.  I'm 41 and my fiance is 34.  We get married in April and he turns 35 in September.  I plan on throwing my new hubby a big birthday party for his 35th!

I wondered if there was anyone around my age on here.  BF and I have only been dating ten months, but I know we are both planning a future together.  I am eagerly awaiting a proposal, by which time I will certainly be forty (summer).  I will be a second-time bride; my late husband passed after 4.5 months of marriage.  I look forward to March 14th because my bf and I will celebrate a year together.

I am so glad to see so many over 40 first-time marrieds here. I thought I was rare. Guess we are a budding trend. I got married for the first time at age 42. And, I am glad. I don't feel like I missed anything. Has anyone found any other good resources for being married for the first time over age 40?

    I'm 40 and T is now 43!

I feel so comfy in my own skin now at 40.  It's both our second marriage so we're encores!

We're doing a destination wedding in August.  Church wedding with bayside/ocean reception!

I am 49 and getting married in July.  I will turn 50 in October.  My fiance is 48.  Second marriage for both but this is my first wedding.  Years ago I was married in front of a judge before a trial was to begin.

I wanted to get married before the age of 50.  I don't know why just do.

I am getting excited.  My girls, age 8 and 12 are my bridesmaid along with his 14 year old daugther.  My 12 year old is my maid of honor.  We are getting married in Ireland and I can't wait.

I am 43 and will be 44 when we get married in October!  F will be 41.  FIRST marriage for me (although third engagement) and third marriage for him.  Three times the charm I guess for both of us!  I have no children but he has four.

I'm so excited about it.  F has been great with all the wedding planning, even meeting caterers on his own!  He says it took him three tries to get it right.  I would have been in the same boat but you know when your heart says THIS is it!!

I'm 49, he's 48. If we get married this year, we can both turn 50 as married folk. He's awesome; I've been single since for 14 years. He was definitely worth the wait!

It's ok, mrbee.  Even the 40-something board is not all that busy, and a 50-something board would probably be just me, talking to myself.  If no one minds, I'll just consider myself forty-sixteen.  ;-)

Hi.  42 here.  Just got married last August to my 40 year old hubby.  First marriage for him and I had been divorced for over 10 years.  Feel like a kid again.  Smile

I turned 41 last month and my FH is 30 and will turn 31 a week after our October 2010 wedding. Neither of us has had a religious ceremony. I had a non-denominational service in 2000 but wasn't married for more than 6 months. This feels like my first wedding as we're going through sessions with our Rabbi and we're planning together. I'm so excited!

Seriously, I tell friends and co-workers that I spared myself the "practice marriage" that many women have. I was a late bloomer no way ready to be married before age 30, and it took me 9 years from then to meet my wonderful FI. Sometimes I wish we found each other at 25, but I know in my heart it couldn't have worked any other way.

My only sadness: a severe childhood illness left me unable to have children. Even at 44, I hope for an "oops" but I know it's less likely for me than waking up on the moon.

    Any 40+ brides contemplating motherhood?

Hi everyone.  Both my fiance and I are 42yrs old.  This will be his 2nd marriage, and I'm embarrassed to, say my 3rd.  (Hey, you don't plan it this way, sometimes it just happens).  Anyway, a little background on us.  We went to high school together.  He remembers me from beating him in the spelling bee, lol.  We were in choir and drama together, etc.  It's just crazy.  After high school, I moved to CA, with my then high school sweetheart, and spent the next 20 years out there.  I moved back to Oklahoma in 2008 and found him on Facebook in April 2009.  As they say, the rest is history.

At my previous weddings, I never got to have my couture gown, or the insane amount of flowers I want, never got to dance at my reception or have a honeymoon.  He told me that we will definitely being doing all of that because this is the last time we ever do this.

We picked out my ring a few weeks ago, although he won't let me have it yet cause he says he still has to talk to my dad first, such a sweetheart he is.

I am soooo excited!   Would love to hear everyone else's stories too.

Just wanted to give a shout out to my 40-something sisters! I initially felt a little silly "going full bride" getting married for the first time in my 40s, but eventually decided to just go for it and had a great time with zero regrets! Here's a pic of me (44) from my wedding last weekend with my mom (65). Don't let anyone tell you that weddings can't be magical and special at any age! -Jade

I love the 40 something board.

I am 41 and my fiance is 35.  This is a 2nd marriage for both of us.  We just got engaged 2 months ago.  We are thinking a Vegas wedding with just immediate family and my 2 daughters will be my maids of honors, hopefully in 2011.

I'll be 43 and FI wll be 55. Third times the charm for both of us. But as he says the first wedding for us AND our LAST!!!!
We both agree that had we met 20 years ago, it would not have worked. Ladies you all make beautful brides.
