Hey Fellow June-Bees!  How's everyone's planning coming along?  We've only been doing little things here & there, but have taken a small break from it all, to be resumed after the holidays Laughing I always feel like every spare day I have should be spent working on wedding stuff, but there hasn't been much motivation lately.  Anyone else feel the same way?

    Hi!  :)

We've come to a lull too, the holidays are taking its toll.  I do feel like I should be doing something too, but what?  Its just that people keep saying, "only 6 more moooooonths!"  and I'm like, oh jeez, only?  I thought I had plenty of time, maybe not?  I've gotten all of the big things done, its the lil stuff, projects and such.  Like the programs, menu's, aisle, etc.  Invites are the next semi-big thing to tackle.  Oh, and I plan on being really strict about my diet and exercise... after the holidays!

    Hi jennifer :)

I hear ya! People keep saying the same thing to us and it puts me in panic mode, but as I do a run-down in my mind... none of it really needs to be completed now, right? Looks like we're on the same page, we're also going to tackle the paper items next and I'll start that wedding diet after the new year... hehe

Lull here as well! I have a wedding planner and have told her we'll start up again after the holidays...kind of a nice break but I'm still just as obsessed with wedding stuff.  So I guess it's more of a break for her! Less than 6 months here, yay!!

@whfields - That's great that you have a wedding planner! If something comes up, she'll call you to make sure things get kicked back into gear! I think the FI is enjoying the break, so we can just focus on enjoying the holidays!

I can't believe it's only 6-months away!  It's gonna be here before we know it!

Yeah, I'm realizing that as long as you have the vendors booked, there really isn't a rush to do much else.  My Mother is looking forward to helping with the rest.

    Happy Holidays!!

Ugh, I feel so far behind.  I only have half of my vendors booked and I haven't found a dress yet.  I did finally pick out bridesmaids dresses this weekend though!

It's coming a lot faster than I thought it would...

I'm so with you guys in needing a break! This past weekend was the first since we got engaged that I didn't do any wedding crafting or planning! I felt a little guilty about it, but it was much needed.

After the new year I have a feeling things will speed up faaaast, less than 6 months ladies!

@Miss Britt, good luck with the dress shopping!

This weekend I was supposed to do some projects, but with the snow storm and basically no craft store inside DC proper, I've been sidelined.

And yes, totally freaked out about the new year approaching.

I've been engaged since last NYE and it feels like 10 years. We have sooo much more time it makes me sick to think about. I'm ready for my day to come already! Everything is done it could be tomorrow!!!

@moderndaisy- I know what you mean, we got engaged this day last year.  It feels like its been forever and a day.  Yet, some times I feel like we couldn't of done it in a year, strange.  I know the rest of the time will fly and I can't wait!

6 months seems so close and so far at the same time. I'm at a point where I don't want to do anything wedding related, I just want to be married. Maybe I'll get my arse in gear after the holidays. I definitely need to. It's all about the details from here on out.

I agree with those of you that say 6 months is a weird point! I feel like it is really getting close and I'm actually getting kind of nervous! But I still feel like its too soon to do some of the stuff left on my list. There are definitely some details and DIY I could be doing, though.

Anyone starting to get a little jittery, like, "Holy crap, I'm really getting married this year!" or is it just me?

@missbritt - Have fun dress shopping, I'm sure your wedding dress & BM dresses soon enough!  I found my dress & the BM dresses @ the first store that we went to. As long as you have certain styles in mind, you'll be OK :)

Happy Engagement Anniversary ModernDaisy & Jennifer!  My FI & I got engaged last year today too!  It does feel like it's been forever... I learned my lesson not to plan things too early cause I keep changing my mind! Lol

@Danielle - I think about that too!  Makes me excited and freaked out at the same time!  Wedding planning definitely throws lots of relationship challenges our way, but glad we're trying to have fun with everything and work through it so everything turns out as planned!

Hang in there ladies!  Let's see how quickly things speed up in January! Makes me nervous just thinking about it!

@soon2bewed925- I did the same thing!  I was so convinced that what I liked a year ago I'd like today and there are some things I'm sooo over.  I wish I'd taken my time with some stuff.  Not only that, but I bought some things that I totally don't even need anymore.  That'll be my tip to give brides in the future- take your time deciding!

Yeah I definitely have a ton of "pool" colored envelopes that I don't need now because I bought them waaaay too early. That's the problem with long engagements I guess!

The only thing we have going on for January (is it 2010 already?) is more pre-cana prep work, physically putting our save-the-dates in the mail and hopefully, MY DRESS SHOULD BE IN! I'm really just excited for the dress. Seriously. Come back to me baby.

The 6-month mark makes me a little jittery! Especially with our money situation and still not having a caterer booked! Eeek! We're going to do that this month (Jan.) for sure!

We thought we would be jittery at the 6 months point but that wasn't the case at all.  Maybe it had to do with the holidays?

Like many others, I feel like we've hit a bit of a lull.  I've tried contacting a make-up artist but was told to contact her 4 months out.  We have our tastings in February so really we don't have much left to do.

Methinks reality will kick in when we have 100 days left to go.  As of now however, I'm proud to say we're panic-free!

I'm still chugging along getting small things done...booked transportation for the wedding party, nailed down accomodations for the wedding party....I'm trying to contact some ladies for a hair/makeup trial.

FI and I are going to register in January!  Yay!

I had a slight minor panic attack at work the other day when I got the email from another site saying You have ONLY six months left.  It activated every planning molecule I had despite the fact that I was at work and couldn't do a thing about it.

Stupid thing is, all the major things are planned and it is the small thing left that need some work. But the devil is in the details and I will be glad when the holidays are over so I can get my head back on straight.

On a side note, it has been nice to spend a few wedding-free weekends with my FI and remember - not that I forgot - why we are getting married and how lucky I am.

All of my major vendors are reserved and have been for months now. All we need is a baker. It is mainly the details that are fun but challenging. I also have some things to figure out for our Rehearsal Dinner since we are having a large one including our OOT guests and I want to make centerpieces for those. I feel like I'm in an awkward place because I can't make 10 centerpieces now - where will I put them? Will they get dusty? I really have to wait on that. So I'm focusing on the DIY projects that I can do now and store until the wedding like favors, invite decorations, etc. I think come the 100 day mark I will really start to feel the pressure though....

We hit a lull during finals and the holidays too, but we've gotten back in full swing.  I bought my shoes, this weekend we ordered bridesmaids dresses, last night I created and ordered out STD's, we decided to do flowers ourselves and practiced the bouquets and centerpieces last night, and we have our 2nd of 4 pre-marital sessions Saturday right before we go order our invitations from our vendor's semi-annual sale!  Whew!  Breathe now!

I'm starting to get nervous!  We have all of our big vendors, but fiance still needs 2 groomsmen, and I'm freaking about that!  I also feel like there's a ton of little stuff I need to get done-get my shoes, cake topper, cake server, finish our "workbook" for our church, book honeymoon, and register-things liek that.  Once those things are done I think it'll be smooth sailing.

Make a checklist with anything & everything, then you can edit later... it'll be loooong, but it feels GREAT to cross things off - plus it's good to know you have all those "little thing" written down somewhere!!

    Have a good weekend! Laughing
