I'm getting married in Westlake Village at St Maximilian Kolbe catholic church and having the reception at the hall at the church (they have a bar in it!)
I'm still searching but you can see where i'm going with my research on my blog http://missperfectpeachprincess.blogspot.com/ feel free to give me any suggestions too :) i'm open to anything right now :)
Lots of ideas but none that are quite working out b/c of numbers of guest or not allowing outside vendors... Your venue looks really nice, the church is modern and in a cool area - perfect if you have Out of town guests. AND A BAR in the church. you can NOT top that!! :)
We are getting married in the UCLA Faculty center -- we can't wait to take the wedding party pictures in front of Royce Hall! The price was awesome -- though I must say that they have raised them since we signed our contract. Our contract includes a one hour full bar and served hot and cold hors'douevre, which is now extra.
Since FI is graduated at Pepperdine Univ, thats where the venue will be. Stauffer Chapel in Malibu. It has the view of the beach! So beautiful... Can't wait. Three more months!=)
I love all of the University weddings! I was getting some static about our decision in the beginning -- so it is nice to see other brides doing the same.
Tallbride -- thank you! It is only 1 month 2 weeks away -- that feels like tomorrow!
Oh my goodness! Ladies your venues all look amazingly beautiful! I am getting married at the Marina Del Rey Hotel in...you guessed it :) Marina Del Rey! Its pretty though and right on the water.
I love ur blogs amy77jc...I wished I would have read it before our own quest for a reception site...we settled for the Legendary Park Plaza in Downtown L.A. as our reception venue. Our wedding ceremony will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, near USC. Check out the Park Plaza...I heart historic buildings in L.A.
We're getting married at the Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes, and the reception is at the Reef Restaurant in Long Beach. I'm so excited! Even if it does blow the budget!
BTW - I also wanted to consider the chapel at USC, and would have totally considered our university if it wasn't in Illinois. It's such a cute idea to get married at your school!
I totally heart all the venues listed above! esp. the university sites.
our ceremony will be at the bel air presbyterian church (floor to ceiling windows, very clean/modern with a great view) and the reception will be in the outdoor courtyard of the skirball cultural center. we got a really great deal and their food is wonderful! with all the money that goes into weddings, it was a priority that our venue be non-profit. the skirball hosts so many great events for the community and youth that it was top on our list, even though we're not jewish! :) big plus is also having the cocktail hour in their gallery. if you ahven't been there, think about the views and feel you get at the getty and it is kinda' the same idea.
Just curious... and a bit bored :e)
