I hate when this thread gets started, but I just wanted to chime in and say that the approval rate for marijuana legilzation in the US is now at 55%.  Yay!

@jb20:  It is legal enough for me in CA lol. It would be great to get it 100% but right now if you have a valid ID and $80 it will get you a medi-card and access to medical clinics where you can purchase it safely.

I know there are a lot of strong opinions on it. I don’t care for it myself, but don’t really care if anyone else does it.

I doubt I would. I’m guessing most business still won’t allow their employees to use it and I wouldn’t want to risk my job. I never really liked it anyways.

Doesn’t bother me any.  I used it a lot in the past but don’t have any desire anymore.  So I wouldn’t buy any even if it was legal.  I think the $$ they are generating from it is FANTASTIC!  Fighting against it is so pointless.

I’ll never do it. It’s drugs + smoking which are two huge flags to me. Legal or not, I’m not a fan of the stoner pothead smell.

While I don’t use it and don’t really know many people that do I support it. I beleive people are going to do it anyway and I FULLY support us using the taxes we would get off of it for education. Plus think of all the money it would safe law enforcement not having to imprision such a small crime?

Those are my only reasons.

I used to use it recreationally as a teenager, before getting a professional job….  I always enjoyed the effects way more than Alcohol.    I think marijuana is a million times safer than alcohol.    If your only argument is the idea of ‘smoking’ remember you can consume it in food and get the same effect, no smoke.

It’s been about 5 years since I’ve used, as I’ve matured and don’t think it’s worth getting in trouble with the law over.     that being said, I would love to see it legalized everywhere.

it’s legal in my state, and I’m happy about it even though I’m not a smoker. why?

1. of course all of the social and economical benfits that should happen, which has alredy been cited in the media and does not need to be repeated here.

2. there will be so much variety and new kinds. the reason why I stopped smoking is because it made me feel paranoid. it’s a shame because it otherwise made me feel relaxed and really good, with no hangover (FYI: my past habit was strictly recreational, I did not do it often). I know there are many strains being created that will have different effects, and I look forward to giving some a try. maybe I’ll find one that is suitable for me. I have a lot of friends who feel the same way.

@Pinkmoon:  omg from some of your responses on other threads (including this one), I think we might be the same person! lol I AGREE 100%.

I don’t support drug use or smoking of any kind. I also don’t buy into that BS about how it’s “safer” than other things that are already legal. Just because there are “worse” things that are legal, doesn’t make it OK. Plus if you smoke weed, you STINK like a decaying-just-got-ran-over skunk. Sorry but I’m not sorry. You smell and everyone around you is being assaulted by your stench. But thank you to some of you who splash around in a bath of perfume before going out in public to attempt to mask it. It’s a nice thought, but it makes it even worse lol.

It also gets old to hear people spew the same old thing over and over again about how they aren’t pot heads and got 50 masters degree’s while smoking weed every single day blahblahblah.

Well I live in Colorado,  and I can tell you it’s great for tourism and the economy.

I smoked it once,  it was interesting,  but I’d rather eat it.  FI used to be a big stoner and is on board,  but can’t partake because it is illegal federally and he is a police officer.  If the time comes where he can partake,  I’d rather he ate it, because the smell is atrocious as others have mentioned.
