Welcome and congrats on your engagement!  There are so many venues to chose from in this area.  We are actually getting married in Harford County, but checked out a lot of venues in Baltimore County (none in the city though).  We went to a wedding last year at one of the Martin’s and the food was fantastic.

If you need any suggestions on vendors or anything, I’d be happy to share my experiences so far.

We’re using Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace.  We also looked at Bulle Rock, and Beechtree in Harford County and Overhills Mansion, Irvine Nature Center, and The Manor Tavern in Baltimore County.

There’s a magazine called Baltimore Bride or Baltimore Wedding or something like that, which lists a lot of venues and vendors- it’s a good starting place, and you can get it at Barnes & Noble.

I’m getting married in Baltimore City because that’s where my church is.

Welcome! I’m from the DC area but getting married in Baltimore.  Our venue is the Cloisters Castle, about 10 minutes from downtown Baltimore.  We are getting married this August and cannot wait!

Welcome! I live closer to the DC area, but we’re getting married in Harford County (Vandiver Inn) just a few weeks after you! 🙂

Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the Bee!  We are getting married at the Mansion at Valley Country Club (I thought that was where you were going too, but the two places just have very similar names).  I haven’t been to a wedding there before but the place is beautiful and I’ve heard the food is great too.  Watch out for pricing when you’re looking at venues–some places will charge crazy amounts for open bar, or charge you a “site fee” on top of everything else.  Valley C.C. is a lovely historic mansion, has reasonable pricing, and includes open bar, so we were sold.

Anyways, good luck on your planning, have lots of fun, and don’t be afraid to ask anything on here.  Everybody is really great and helpful.  You’ll be addicted to the Bee soon enough!
