Congratulations! A lot of those venues I’m actually looking into as well and on tight budget! I don’t have advice to offer but thank you for posting the question and I’ll be checking up on this thread for others advice 🙂

@dazzlechild:  Welcome and congrats! How many guests were you interested in having? And is 10K budget for the whole wedding or just the venue? I think I can help you out!

I’m getting married at Enoch Turner School House this summer! Big question is how many guests are you planning on? This will big a huge factor on budget, as food and staffing seem to be the biggest cost! We are planning on 150, and so far our caterer quote (food, rentals, staffing, HST and landmark fee all in) is just under $15,000, for a 3 course plated meal. I am hoping to get this number down with different options for meals and hopefully a DIY dessert bar.

Start sending off emails to venues, and find out if they have preferred caterers, and start asking for quotes from both, don’t book a ventue until you know what you will have to pay a caterer, and/or other rentals etc. that don’t come included in the venue fee!

My girlfriend had a beautiful wedding at Archeo in the distillery district for $8k. We danced to an ipod and she paid for alcohol based on consumption since her relatives don’t drink but it was lovely and fun. She needed very little decor since the restaurant is so beautiful.

One more idea. Camp Ooch has a Beautiful brick and beam room as well as a huge deck on the roof with a great city view. I’ve held corporate events here and the rental money goes to supporting sending kids with cancer to camp. You need to bring in everything including tables and chairs, but it’s a great spot at College & Bathurst and it’s not expensive
