Hmm. Maybe some kind of lighting that goes with the theme of your wedding. I keep envisioning "old timey" lamposts. Or maybe you could line the walkway up to the door with candles or lanterns.
The walkway isn't the problem. The church is set off of the street kind of in a lot of trees. So, you can easily miss the entrance from the street. I don't want people to have to drive back and forth trying to find the church sign. It's lit, but I want to make it easier. Teh driveway is right at a curve in the road too.
what about putting twinkle light around the door? (like, around the frame of the door)?
what does the entrance look like?
what about lining the drive up to the door with glowing votive candles - either in hurricane vases, or holders that would cast some sort of pretty shadow on the walkway.
our church is also tucked away and we are planning on putting a couple roads from the side road that it is off of...and some other signs around the property and lead our guests to the right entrance since there are several.
What about signs? You could do some mock street signs (if your venue is urban) or some rustic wooden signs (remember Mrs. Cherry Pie's signs) if your venue is a little more rustic. Or use a big chalkboard (Mrs. DG). There are all kinds of vendors on etsy that make great signs. Or put something on the ground along the path to the church (tealights or rose petals or something).
Missomally and Alisha, I am not sure if signs by themselves will work. It will be around 6 on an OCtober evening, so it will be starting to get dark. What kind of lighting could I use?
You could get some of those pretty luminaries or lanterns and use them to light the way to your church. And a few strings of twinkle lights to frame the door.
Ok so i think everyone i missing your point... you're trying to get them to see the street not the church correct???
My idea would be to get a sign and then place some flood lights on the ground shining up to the sign
i don't know if there is a way to use the floodlights where u need the sign but ifso that would be ideal
If not try using a pole with an oil lanturn to light the signs... this way they will last longer than candles or battery operated lighting
THANKS, Future!! That is it exactly. The church os off of the road. I just don't want people to miss the driveway.

Our wedding is going to be at 6PM on an October evening, so it will be getting dark. The street that the venue on is a winding suburbian two lane with no street lights. How can we make the entrance more visible? Post pics if you have them.
