I went wedding dress “looking” this weekend with the intention of just looking, but of course I ended up buying…oops. I fell in love and couldn’t say no. Thing is my mum just sent me a photo and now started to feel slightly body conscious. Is there a way of hiding arm pit fat? the wedding is very casual so maybe I could wear a cardigan? I didn’t originally intend to try to lose weight because I am healthy and wanted to look like me…also I am never good at dieting…but should I start considering it? What are you doing to slim down for your wedding?

how in god’s name do you have armpit fat?? and what IS armpit fat???
You are like a size zero. You look gorgeous in your dress, don’t worry!!!

I don’t really have an answer to your question, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE your dress on you! It looks like it’s a great choice… and I don’t think you have “armpit fat”! I know dresses can dig into us in weird ways (I experienced this with mine too) but I think the undergarments you wear or don’t wear (or a good seamstress) could probably take away any worries you have.

Sweetie, that dress looks amazing! Please do not diet. You don’t need to. The “armpit fat” you’re talking about is caused simply by the way the dress fits, it has nothing to do with how thin you are – even if you did diet it would probably look the same.

@An_idiot_a_bride: You don’t have armpit fat. It’s just the way the dress is cutting into you. You can fix that with alterations. Just have the sides turned down or cut down down a bit, and ta da!

@OnceUponATime: Totally agree! 🙂
@An_idiot_a_bride: It’s defintiely an alterations thing. You don’t need to lose an ounce of weight! 😀 You look gorgeous, btw!

@An_idiot_a_bride: To me it just looks like it need a slight let out in the bust area, or maybe you just need to push your boobies down a bit. I don’t think it’s fat, I think it’s your boobies smushing back too far.

@An_idiot_a_bride: I have an ‘ample bossom’ and as a result i pretty much always have the dreaded ‘armpit fat’ but – alterations to make sure you’re not smooshed in there will help.
if you want to exercise, chest flys/pushups/any shoulder/chest muscle workout will help the area.

You look great. I don’t think you need to worry about hiding anything. If you’re concerned about the area where the top of the dress hits your armpits, consider taking to your photographer about how she can pose you so that your arms won’t be pressed into your sides. Really tough, you look amazing!

@An_idiot_a_bride: that can be fixed by alterations! You don’t have armpit fat.

@An_idiot_a_bride: You look gorgeous! Not to be a grandma, but maybe stand up just a bit straighter and that tiny crease will disappear 🙂

@An_idiot_a_bride: I have this issue sometimes – it happens to women with small boobs (it makes sense if you think about it, I swear haha). I think they could alter the top a little, maybe put in more structure. But it doesn’t look like “fat” it just looks like where your arm meets your chest…if you know what I mean haha

It really doesn’t look like fat so much as skin to me, but if you’re really self conscious about it, try doing some push-ups. They tend to target that area and would tighten stuff up. It can’t hurt…

Thank you all for your advice and kind words. I was feeling pretty down about my body but it’s good to see alterations can hide it. I am really not very good at diets lol will certainly give some push ups a try though. Thank you
