Do you know when the bill comes?

Just tell him that it’s on there and he shouldn’t look unless he wants to ruin the surprise!  Or does he lack that level of self-control?

Ditto what rosychicklet said. Actually this is exactly one of the reasons why FH and I have decided to keep separate accounts as well as our joint account which will become our “main” account. We both love surprising each other 🙂

I would swipe the credit card bill until he gets the present!  Unless he has to pay it before then of course!

I third rosychicklet’s advice, if he’s got the self-control not to look.

Yeah, I’d tell him straight out that you have something for his Christmas present on that card, and ask him not to look at it until after the holiday.  Luckily, we still have our personal accounts/cards in addition to our joint ones, so I didn’t have to worry about this.  I did, however, have to have his present shipped to my sister’s house so he didn’t see it early!

I agree, plus you might want to consider having more than one credit card.  1 shared plus a personal one each…I think this actually improves your credit (open lines of credit) if you still pay them in full monthly.  So far, we have not integrated our CCs…more out of laziness than anything, plus we are racking up lots of airline miles and haven’t researched how it works if we combine…

UGH I have to have everything shipped to his office so I can’t get much by him! He askes if he can open things (or not) but still… he can see what company the package comes from. Ugh. Oh well.

I think it’s fair to ask him not to look at the CC bill for the time being due to Christmas surprises! I’m sure he wants to be surprised, too!

Im going to have to take cash out of our account to buy the gifts or put it on my own CC.  Hes a financial advisor so he sees our purchases and checks every day 🙂  Im getting everything shipped to his parents house and letting them know so I ll either keep it and wrap it there or bring it home and put it in a spot and tell him not to look. He told me the other night not to look in 2 certain drawers and its killing me!
