I’ve had blood tests where my blood patterns suggested Lupus or RA and my ANA tither was high. After going to a Rheumatoligist both were ruled out – so there is a possibility you will not test positive for either.

I have joint pain in my ankles and wrists when I have Strep (I’m a carrier and it affects my body weird ways apparently) and typically clears after taking antibiotics. I’ve never had swelling or anything along with my joint pain.

I’ve had that pain plus swelling and some other weird symptoms, too.  I’m seeing a rheumatologist now.  At this point, he thinks it’s either lupus or something to do with my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  🙁

I have Lyme disease and long before I was even diagnosed my sed rate was high.

Edit: I found this for you–basically you can have an elevated ESR due to a lot of things (anemia, on the list, is not very major and can be corrected usually). Your doctor will be able to perform more tests and rule anything out, but my advice would be to ask for a test for Lyme.
