Blondie2014:  twins in hubbies family doesn’t matter. I would just ask about it at your next Appointment and say your numbers seem very high for 5 weeks. Is it possible I’m farther along? My levels doubled really fast but it’s just one baby. My first guess would be you’re either further along, or just have high hormone levels. But there’s not much you can do other than discuss with your doctor your concerns.

Also were your first betas from Saturday or Sunday? they should double in 48 hours so if they were drawn Saturday and again Monday, they didn’t double properly… Not to freak you out. But another question I would ask

I had levels like that at the same time, I’m 24w3d and have had a normal, single pregnancy so far. 🙂 Congrats!

Also levels that high take longer to double, you have nothing to worry about. And high betas don’t necessarily mean multiples at all.

At 7 weeks my HcG levels were 64000 and I was pregnant with twins. But from what I hear the levels dont really matter as long as they aren’t super low. So you could have a nice healthy singleton or twin pregnancy!

Blondie2014:  I also didn’t have an ultrasound until 20 weeks. We heard the heartbeat every appointment, though, starting at my first one at 11 weeks. I assume you would find out if it is more than one baby when they listen for the heartbeat and examine you- we knew it was just one baby in there at 11 weeks. Good luck to you!
