OK so i love how i met your mother, but i've been a bit down on it lately. i feel like a lot of the jokes seem forced and the characters have taken on these annoying personas.  but i'm still hooked because i'm invested in the show, i want to know who the mother is!

but last night, i just dont know how i feel about it. how can robin be pregnant? more importantly, how can she be having unprotected sex with either of these men? Barney has slept with hundreds of women and she's known Kevin for a few weeks!

I just dont know where they are going with this...i'm hoping it's kevins, not because i like him but because i dont want Robin and Barney to get married because she's pregnant!

What do you guys think? where is this going?

@esqbee: I think it's barney's! Also, I don't think she necessarily had unprotected sex...there could have been a condom involved lol. I didnt see the episode yet so idk if they mentioned there wasn't.

DH and I were yelling at the end when she says she's pregnant!  That's crazy.  Not sure where it's headed, but I sure hope it's Barneys!

I love this show, even if it is occasionally kind of forced (I've been rewatching some old episodes, and they've always had some groaners and predictable jokes, but I love the characters so I keep coming back).

I doubt it was unprotected sex... I'm guessing it was a pill issue or broken condom.  I guess the latter it would probably be pretty obvious whose it is, but the former not really... it's not as irresponsible as it seems initially... while Barney seems like a potential petri dish, they were really caught off guard by the moment - it was not exactly high point of good judgment (and he's actually been in serious relationships most of the past couple seasons).

    Maybe it's all a dream.

Did they get new writers?  I don't tend to watch the show much, but the last few commercials I've seen have been a lot more corny than I what remember the show being.  It actually stuck out to me and I don't usually pay attention to these types of things.

You can have protection and still get pregnant.

Not a fan. I don't want Barney and Robin to get together just because she's pregnant. Also is the show going to turn into Up All Night? If 4/5 of the characters have kids how are they going to hang out at a bar all the time?

I think the baby is Barney's.  Although I don't know how this baby thing fits with the rest of my plans.  I really thought, at the end of this season Barney and Nora would be getting married, and Barney would stop the wedding and go after Robin, instead.  Now, I'm thinking the baby is Barney's, but Robin is going to say it's Kevin's so that Barney doesn't feel guilted into being with her...

@LGenz:  This is what I was thinking!  I even told my husband this was going to have to be the last season because how could they all hang out at a bar when they have kids?

@Mrs. Spring: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Though I don't really see Robin having the kid... hasn't Ted mentioned in earlier flash backs that Robin never wanted kids and didn't have them?  I'm wondering if the show is willing to be controversial enough to talk about abortion as an option.  Or I guess if they're not going to go there, she may end up miscarrying or giving the kid up for adoption.

@Entangled:  I remember in the episode where Robin was dating the guy who's kid was in Lily's class, Ted said something about how Robin never wanted kids but obviously got over it.  And then they showed some pictures Ted's kids had supposedly drawn of their aunt Robin taking them to the zoo and stuff.  I thought there might be a miscarriage, too.   Idk, though, since miscarriage is kinda a heavy topic for a sitcom.

@Entangled: Hubs said that last night, that they have said Robin has never had children. His bet is she miscarries.
