Hey Ducks... have you considered importing your decorating vendor? Maybe finding someone in jersey or Boston who might be willing to travel to set everything up for the wedding?
Shobha Shastry from Alankar Decorators is the way to go. She's SO helpful, knowledgeable and well-priced. She's in Massachusetts, so give her a try and see if she'll come out to DC. Worth a shot. She's AWESOME. One of the best vendors in my list.

I am posting to see if anyone knows of a design/decorating vendor specializing in Hindu weddings...something similiar to Elegant Affairs from the New York area, however this one is needed for a wedding in Washington D.C. We need a designer to provide decorations/artifacts and construct or provide the bridal stage for the Hindu wedding. In fact, any vendor recommendations related to hair/makeup and (especially) cultural decorations would be helpful. Thanks in advance to the Hive!
