Here’s a tip to the not yet married…do your FI’s taxes or side by side with an online program. That way you can give him heads up on what to keep track of (deductions wise) for the next year when you are married. We did that last year and it helped us a bit to get to know each other’s financial picture. Now that we are freshly married, it was way easier to do taxes for the both of us. And he is growing to become more savvy in contributions etc.

Fiance and I just did this!
Well, he sat in while I did my taxes, and I will be going with him to do his this Saturday (he has a lot of investments and just bought our house) so he’s getting his done by an accountant, but I want to learn everything so that we make sure we do ours right next year!!

We’re doing ours separately together this weekend. We have some write offs that either of us could take and need to see who it would benefit more (most likely ME)
