So, FI currently wears a mangagement ring (we’re in the military, not stationed together and he likes the “anti-skank” powers it gives him, haha).
The first ring I gave him was titanium, which scratched horribly. The second I gave him was tungsten, which I knew wouldn’t scratch as much, but he somehow managed to break it. Literally, a chip is missing from it!
I’m not sure where to go from here as far as the material of his next ring, which will be his wedding band.
Which metal composition would you suggest based on your experience with yours or your husband’s rings? Thanks!

I thought tungsten was one of the hardest metals! Maybe even try titanium? Gold isn’t very duravle, neither is stainless steel but i suppose at least it’s cheap so it’s not expensive to replace?

I voted for gold but now that I read the details (my bad, lol) I would say platinum. When you scratch gold, it scratches off, but when you scratch platinum, it just displaces the metal, so it can be buffed back to smooth without losing any metal.

have you looked into palladium rings?
my dh’s ring is a combo of palladium and titanium.
