I think we’ve settled on the riviera maya area of Mexico for our HM! Looking around Playa Del Carmen or Cozumel. Any Bees out there have advice as to which one might be better to stay at?
Also, our wedding is in October, but we might wait until November to travel, hoping that the ‘wet/hurricane season’ might be coming to an end then. Thoughts?

We’re going to The Royal Playa del Carmen. They have a sister resort in Cancun too. I’ve heard nohing but great things about the resort from people I know that have stayed there and there’s awesome reviews on tripadvisor too.

We are going to Cozumel! I’m so excited!! Do you SCUBA dive?

Take a look at the Palace Resorts in Riviera Maya. We’re going to the one that’s adults only- there are 5 total and you can visit/eat/play at all 5. It had fantastic reviews and we got a deal with $1500 free resort credits with the all-inclusive package!

@BoiledPNut: No, don’t scuba dive, but would love to try some snorkeling.
@calypso0712 and @blushingbride0612: Thanks for the suggestions!!
Does anybody have a preference as to if you would stay on Cozumel or in PDC?

I think either one would be nice and you can always take the ferry over to the other place. We chose Cozumel because we got a better deal going there than to PDC.

- Wedding: January 2012 - Wynn Las Vegas/Bouchon Bistro
We stayed in both for ours! Secrets Maroma Beach (AI) for the first half; Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel for the second. We liked both areas, but I’d say we had more fun exploring around Cozumel. We really love to snorkel, and the water there is so beautiful.
Honestly, though, it depends on how much you want to go off resort. If you just want to lounge around a fancy resort, I think PDC has some nicer AIs.

we went to the grand palladium just outside playa del carmen.. we absolutely loved it! the reviews on trip advisor are really correct! the grounds are stunning, very lush, great beach, great food, great drinks but the rooms are fairly basic – very clean, kept very nicely, just a little dated. we loved everything though! the excursions were amazing as well!!!
